How the hell did this make it into the country?

The first place to fight back is the voting booth. Forty percent can't be bothered. :(

The second place is anti-government demonstrations. Look what happened at the G20 conference last year. :(

The third place is a law court. How much luck are we having with that? :(

The last and absolutely worst place to fight back is literally, gun in hand. Only lunatic rednecks like Timothy McVeigh do that.

I guess we can always write to our MPs. Come to think of it, that should be first place.

Correct :(, correct :(, correct (some ;) ) and sorry but no... only those that value their and others freedom do that if necessary.

Lunatics like TM are NOT doing so for such reasons.. anymore than Bernardo was raping and killing to protect his. Hence why they are lunatics.

As for writing.. indeed and sadly the vast majority don't even get off their ass to send an email

Wow! This thread sure took one heck of a turn and got a little off track.
Just to try to get it back on track a little.
Can someone please tell answer my earlier question? What is the fuss about the Larue products anyways? Are they really that great? Thanks

Would the State department refuse an export licence request from Questar or Prophet river?

Ok here how it works..

5.56 and other miltary calibers block.. remark it 308 or 223 good to go..

Threaded barrel block
under 18.5 inch barrel block it...
Baynet lug Block..

So if a gun maker makes it 18.5 with no threaded barrel flash hider ect no baynet lug its good to go.. other then that blocked..

If you knew all the BS that Darren, myself and others at KAC have gone through to get One Shot approved SR-25 EM Carbine's you'd understand why Larue and others down here are hesistant when exporting to Canada.

1) the Goal Posts move
2) When the Goal posts dont move someone else decides the Goal Post is not regulation and wants it remeasured, which often leds to #1
3) When everything is cool. You also need to comply with Canada's stupid mag law.
*Which reminds me to pin some SR-25 mags...

We certainly appreciate the effort of all involved, and I can't wait to see the results!!:dancingbanana:
Thanks Kevin and Darren!!!

As a side note - the main reason Darren is getting some SR-25 EMC's when we are not shipping them commercially down here due to the fact we have more government orders for Carbines than we can handle currently is 1) His tenacity and 2) My desire to give Canadians a gun that I really wanted when I lived in Canada, and could not get.:welcome:

That's cool that you're taking the extra time and effort to sell guns up here and I'm sure I cannot appreciate how much effort actually goes into that, but don't make us out to sound like we're some charity case.

I agree with you entirely. That is why I said that option was last and absolutely the worst, then put an angry face behind it. Sorry I did not make myself more clear.

As for writing.. indeed and sadly the vast majority don't even get off their ass to send an email

Thanks for reminding me. I began a letter to my MP a couple of weeks ago, then forgot all about it.

I've been told that old-fashioned letters, on paper, get the most respect from politicians, emails the least. They just get too many of them to pay any attention. Worse, most of those are cut and paste form letters -- one person writes them, the rest just copy and the politician knows he can safely ignore the message.

I will post when I have sent my letter but will include only the gist of it, not the exact words. That way anyone who wishes to write a similar letter will have to think about what he or she really wants and put it in his or her own words.

As far as I see it, they are good quality materials & workmanship but in the end, it's just a metal shape. I can't pring myself to buy scope mounting hardware for the price of the scope. You can get the Lawoo chinese knockoffs for a tenth the price.

Bull#### son, the best most effective way to fight back is to ignore the government which the majority of Canadians do quite well.

You were clear.. but to ensure there is no possible confusion aligning any of us with lunatics like those is definitely of extreme importance IMO.

Old fashioned letters they MUST respond to.... including "form" versions... emails they don't however.

Not to mention the Lawoo's do not require the same level of insane paperwork to get. (Whomever rejected the offer for CDN to be exempt from such needs his/her ass kicked )

Not sure how you take that to sound like charity. Sounds to me like Kevin hasn't forgotten where he came from despite the fact he now has all sorts of cool toys to play with and probably has enough to do without the hassle of trying to export rifles here.

Also, US State Department has been getting more and more restrictive on what items, models and features can't be exported to civilian end-users... so this may also be a factor now for anyone trying to get an export permit approved.

Mark

oh yea? what should we buy up now in anticipation?
