How to make AR15 selector point at full auto spot?

AR15 noob. Just got my first stripped lower receiver and it's marked safe/semi/full (as a joke) and I would like the selector to be able to point at the full auto text (but of course only still be semi auto).

Is there a part or parts that will let me do that? Do I have to file something or machine something (I have equipment)?

I asked Google but all the posts I could find were about converting it to actually full auto.

Let me know please and thanks.

buy a full auto selector. i am not even being a smart ass. The channel where the selector detent rides in, on the semi its only machined to rotate 90 degrees where on the full auto selector is machined the rest of the way.

The you need to run down one of the new Odin Works CQ-S Stocks, I have heard when collapsed they only add 5" to the back of the rifle...........waiting for mine!

Damn those look NICE!

I was planning on running the "JP Enterprises Silent Captured Buffer Spring" and even though it comes with spacers to work in both carbine and rifle length buffer tubes I assume it wouldn't work in the extra shorty Odin Works CQ-S buffer tube?

In other news my BCG (Phase 5 part# BCG-M16) and upper (Aero Precision part# APAR501603AC) arrived today. So excited for this build!

Now I just have to decide on lower internals, so many choices!

Maxim Defense makes a CQB stock kit and an even shorter PDW stock kit that comes with a specifically made JP SCS system that is made shorter in length to fit the short buffer tube. It is a nice piece of kit but it is also an expensive piece of kit.

You can even buy the shortened JP SCS separately if it happens to be the correct length to fit in the setup you were looking at putting together. You would have to contact both manufacturers and find out what the internal length is of their tubes.

IRG carries the JP SCS for the Maxim CQB stock https://www.irunguns.com/parts-gear/grips-pads-stocks/maxim-cqb-buffer-jp-scs-std

The new Odin ones come with their flatwire spring and a specific buffer. Love the JP silent Capture, but have had an issue with one for a 9mm lately and can't seem to figure it out.

Wow that's some fast shipping! Love the personal note too.

Got the transfer started for my receiver (Aero Precision PEW PEW PEW edition).

Probably going to build a .300 AAC Blackout with the shortest barrel I can find, looks like the 5" from Veritas Tactical is about the shortest: https://veritastactical.com/5-300blk/

Unrelated to OPs question... but a 5" barrel with a 1/8 twist is going to shoot like complete garbage. Whoever released that as a purchasable product is a complete moron.

Just a question, don't hate on me, but why would you want a 5" center-fire rifle? I guess its considered a PDW, and already restricted, but still... You will lose 80% of MV / ME, and also annoy the shht outta everyone at the range.... Don't BE "THAT GUY"

May as well complete the set, get a Mil LPK.

I was thinking about getting this "enhanced" lower parts kit, let me know what you think: https://selectshootingsupplies.com/ergo-enhanced-lower-parts-kit-w-o-fire-control/

Would their flatwire spring and buffer setup be as quiet as the JP silent capture?

Not super concerned about accuracy but need a barrel as short as possible for this project. I had a 3" barrel on order with a z tech armory but Canada Customs rejected it three times so they gave up on importing it.

As soon as I'm able I'll answer your question, hopefully before christmas.

Pay close attention to the product descriptions if/when you order because they sell 2 variations of each stock kit. 1 comes with the JP SCS system sized for the kit. The other comes with a regular style buffer and spring that is sized for the kit. Make sure you are careful and choose the one you want. They are an expensive piece of kit and it would suck to end up with the wrong one.

I assume it's this stock, it doesn't come with a buffer right?: https://www.irunguns.com/parts-gear...-pdw-brace-ar15-gen6-cqb-bs-std-blackmxm47524

And this standard buffer: https://www.irunguns.com/parts-gear/grips-pads-stocks/maxim-cqb-buffer-jp-scs-std

or this heavy buffer: https://www.irunguns.com/parts-gear/parts-gear/maxim-cqb-buffer-jp-scs-hvy

For running .300 blackout subsonic, would I chose the standard or heavy?

If you're wanting to use a Maxim Defence stock like the photo above - the SCW stock, you'll need their buffer and spring. Might as well buy it as a complete unit, because a standard buffer and spring wont fit or function.

make expensive noises with 300blk match ammos. HOWEVER, 300blk were meant to run in a short barrel setup, 14" and below. Most 16" 300blk barrels run a pistol length even though the real estate is there to allow for a carbine or even mid length. problem is the powder burn rate, by the time it gets to the 7inch mark. Most gas pressure have been lost already.

if your running a 14" barrel, and " most" gas pressure is lost at 7" how does the bullet make it out the end of the barrel? and when it makes it out the end of the barrel how does it make it down range ? I call BS

Why would it shoot bad? 5" is common, or even long for a pistol barrel and they shoot just fine? 2" pistol barrels put enough spin to stabilize bullets...?
