ignore all the bull#### thats been spewed so far - buy a sti trojan and be done with it
to rest, i am not going to read back in this thread but my preempt to all your crap is a simple question: which brand (and to some degree the best bang for a buck model in that brand) currently owns in all practical shooting competitions? (where 1911s are in their own category)) - clue: this is a rhetorical question (i.e if your too dense to guess, read above)
colts get by this stupid reputation that they were the first, big whoop! - as far as I am concerned, that mean exactly #### and the first generation of EVERYTHING sucks! i will go as far as putting up a trojan up against the best of breed colt available right now to support my claim. sure i've seen a few colts in competition but 90% were custom rebuilt and rest were weak at best - none made it to top 10 in the classic division.
to the ones that will say IPSC is gamey and no equipment there counts for #### - when was the last time you shot off 20 rounds in the thoracic cavity in under 3 seconds? that is the A zone (the only scoring metric that counts in IPSC, as rest as counted as score down). if you still don't get it, too bad; so sad.
