How To Set Up Hardcases For Multiple Handguns?

I just make up a sandwich, stacking them in layers. Foam, gun, foam, gun, foam, etc. No cutting.

That's what a 4 banger MTM is, they work ok. Found a 6 banger Plano sandwich stacker at BassPro.

Thing I don't like about them is that your guns are pointing every which way but down range when you open the case and have to re-case.

Iam in southern AB, even with all the rain we got the air is still dry here. Have had these stored in the case since August, and no rust yet. I might open them up when I get home and do a good check over.

Man I like that arrangement. I see you have revolvers in there as well. Are they 6 inchers?

What case is that?

The top revolver is 6" the one below is 4.2". they are the princess auto cases, they ocasianly go for sale for 30$, there's a thread in here about them with lots of pics. You can't really beat them for the price.

I removed the foam from the bottom and place the handguns du jour (with trigger locks) in pistol rugs which are then placed in the case which is locked. At the range I can remove the pistol (still in the rug) from the case and put it in a range bag or backpack to bring it to the safety table for uncasing and holstering.

It is much easier to carry the empty rug around for the rest of the day than the hard case, and since the rugs are generic (from Cabelas) I can use them for any handgun I have.

I do the same thing bringing a handgun to a CQB match – it goes in the rug which goes in the hard case with the restricted rifle, no foam in the bottom.

This works great for driving to matches and ranges and I have also done it for air travel with rifle, shotgun, 2 SA revolvers all in a hard case to Phoenix for Winter Range.

A plastic case locked with a cheap Masterlock is not security, and it's not a responsible way to store firearms. To me, for storage, each pistol in a safe or vault makes the most sense (rather than a padlocked plastic case), and, to me, for transport, each pistol in a pistol rug makes the most sense. You can lock the pistol rug with a padlock, if you want to. You can carry the padlocked pistol rug in your hand, if you want to. And if you want to, you can carry the locked pistol rugs in a range bag, briefcase, backpack, dufflebag, or a huge Pelican case. Whatever I lock it in, I lock it with an Abloy padlock. That's security. For a firearm, it's at least as protective as the cut-foam model, and it's a lot more versatile.

To each his own, but I just don't understand the appeal of these dedicated-space cut-foam cases.

Use their program and you can make any custom cut foam you want they also have a gun case section for pre cut foam. IIRC they also have a Canadian dealer, but you have to email to ask.

$20 case + 2 x $10 pluck foam = 2 pistol with 10 magazines case ($30 total)

Yeah I know, I probably could have fit another pistol in there. But this way it's not too crammed. And both guns are facing forward. For those aggressive RO's.

Where are you guys getting your foam? I tried all over Edmonton 2 years ago and all I could find was a piece of that yellow stuff about that size and 3 inches thick for about $30.
