I just measured distance between trigger guard screws..? Its 2.99 inch
the opening of the reciever is 3.11
This gun was an older maybe 80s 670 winchester 243
The guard screws are 3" apart? That's a special run super super super short action.![]()
Measure the distance between the very front and rear guard screws. I'm guessing though from your ejection port measurement that it's a long action.
If it's a M670, it doesn't have bottom metal, just a trigger guard. Blind mag, like a rem M700 ADL.
It was made late 1960s to early 1970s. Blind magazine, hardwood stock, push feed. I'm pretty certain it's a long action. They didn't start making any short actions until USRA took over in the early 80s, and the M670 was long gone by then. (IIRC)
