This is appalling, of course, but we have to look at the other side of the coin. If they ALL survived, they would be a lot less scarce and prices would be down somewhere that even I MIGHT be able to scratch it up. As they are, enough have been wrecked to push the prices upward.
Something we really have to watch is what our Government seems to be doing. Our local RCMP chop up every single thing they can find, court order or no. Recently, they sent a 1915 London Small Arms SMLE with a near-perfect bore to the welding-shop to be cut across with the oxy-acetylene torch. No court order, either. Enough to make you bloody well CRY. Small wonder they don't shoot at our local range.
At least this one has been saved from a similar fate and now has a CHANCE again.
