How to use an apostrophe: the character '

...daBear - what error on the original? no error, just that poster #2 added some variants and started to wonder how to combine plurals and possessivenes.

"plurals and possessivenes"??? Wozzis? The anterior pluperfect subjunctive of "to possess"? Not to mention that sentences begin with caps! :p

Whoa... where are we? A long way from "the eternal conflict between the 9 and the .45", unless some swot can come up with "An Apostrophe to John Moses Browning." (That's the other kind of apostrophe. But do we even want to go there?)

I saw some employees in a grocery store making a sign once, they were having an argument. One of them turned to me and asked "where would YOU put the apostrophe in "alls"?"
