Okay thanks for that, theres so little online about the 557s! I loved the howa but its heavy for me to hunt with

Howa if you want a 22" bbl, Weatherby if you want a 24" bbl in the standard versions. Built like tanks, triggers easily lightened, and great value for the money if you buy used. That said, they are not a lightweight rifle unless you go the compact model route with the pencil 20" barrel. They are not as refined as Tikkas but they are the meat and potatoes of rifles in my opinion. Every time I sell one I regret it.

Looking over the Howa catalog at the Howa 1500 HS Percision in 6.5 . Why don’t they offer that model in. Cerakote finish ?
