Yes, one should make allowances for new shooters indeed. My two daughters once they displayed interest to shoot I took them to the range with my smaller calibre firearms. I was very lucky in that they wanted to shoot under my careful supervision. This is not always so.Although I agree that there shouldn't be any separation, for a lot of women heading to the gun range for the first time can be intimidating with a bunch of men around, so something like a woman's shooting organization can offer a level of comfort that would invite more women to the sport. Not necessarily separate ranges, but designated times or the like.

Hi everyone. I'm new to CGN, and I'm here to learn more about guns and share information with y'all from a female perspective. I'm part of Girl's Guide to Guns (www.girlsguidetoguns.com) and am happy to (try and) answer any female-specific questions. I'm no expert but I strive to be as knowledgeable as possible, and might even write a few articles based on what inspires me here! Also, if you have any article ideas please do share them.
I'd love to hear if y'all know of any women's shooting clubs or groups that GG2G should connect with!
