Howdy from Girl's Guide to Guns!

Although I agree that there shouldn't be any separation, for a lot of women heading to the gun range for the first time can be intimidating with a bunch of men around, so something like a woman's shooting organization can offer a level of comfort that would invite more women to the sport. :) Not necessarily separate ranges, but designated times or the like.
Yes, one should make allowances for new shooters indeed. My two daughters once they displayed interest to shoot I took them to the range with my smaller calibre firearms. I was very lucky in that they wanted to shoot under my careful supervision. This is not always so.
They were about 14-12 at the time, and they both disliked the weight of my Ruger Mk II. I ended up buying a handgun, specifically for thier use, a smaller Star Model F semi-auto 22 with the shortest barrel legally possible, that they were very comfortable in shooting.
Mind you this could not compare to any target gun, but one look on thier smiling faces after an afternoon of shooting 22 rimfire handgun @10 yards, was enough to convince me they had fun.

Keep up the good work!

that does make alot of sense i guess anything that gets the ladies out there enjoying the sport is a big plus for all gun owners especially up here in canada as the antis keep using womans groups against us.I am pretty open minded when it comes to woman showing up at the ranges and really enjoy the looks on the mens faces when they get out shot.at the risk of sounding like a mamas boy it was my mother that actually showed me the ropes when it came to small game hunting as my father worked quite alot and only took the time for big game hunting so it was my mom that taught me and engraved safe fire arms use at a young age.even at 65 years of age and a cancer survivor she is still one of the best wing shooters i have yet to see,and i always look forward to opening day walking down the trail with her by my side in the hunt for grouse and even when she passes ill still have the fond memories of our hunts.

Welcome. Nice to see women getting involved with firearms. My daughters are interested in shooting with me, and I am looking forward to taking them to the range. I trust you will find CGN helpful and insightful. All the best.

Hi everyone. I'm new to CGN, and I'm here to learn more about guns and share information with y'all from a female perspective. I'm part of Girl's Guide to Guns (www.girlsguidetoguns.com) and am happy to (try and) answer any female-specific questions. I'm no expert but I strive to be as knowledgeable as possible, and might even write a few articles based on what inspires me here! Also, if you have any article ideas please do share them.

I'd love to hear if y'all know of any women's shooting clubs or groups that GG2G should connect with!

Welcome!
