Was out in Abbotsford the other day doing some browsing and stumbled into HUB sports in Abbotsford just off 5 corners.

Went to buy some AE .45 auto.. NP 37$ A BOX@! But if you want to save some money you can buy some commercial reloads for 21$ a box..

wow. ouch

How about 34.99 for a box of those re loads for a .44 magnum. All the other stores were selling the new stuff for about 50.00. While I was there I also took it dry for a couple small boxes of corn cob and walnut shells. It was around 28.00 for a box the size of a ciggarette pack. I hated myself for doing it, but I like that store and I needed it right then. What are ya gonna do. Better planning on my part in the future for sure. I have since read on this site about the deals in the pet stores. I'll try that next.

Dude, its Hubs....

Going there and expecting a deal, or even fair market price, is like winning a car on the "Roll up the Rim to Win" game..... Oh, wait... I think the odds are better at finding a Leprechaun riding a unicorn at the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. ;)

Seriously, I'm glad I don't live in the Lower Mainland anymore and have to put up with the lack of supplies and the prices. Horray for God's country!! Alberta! ;) :stirthepot2:

...and mail order...

Hub is on crack. And they're totally ignorant if you even ask about prices... 303 british WW power points for 46 a box... riiiiight.

Roger has always been good to me, My brother picked up a Tikka T3 syn-stainless Boxing Day for 620.00 no one got gouged that day:)

Maybe I should clarify that I was referring to ammunition prices. And the last time I was in there, they weren't selling guns either, the last time I remember seeing guns in there was when I was 10.... So don't take my word for it. ;)

An 'unsavory' employee was selling guns off the books many moons ago and it has not been until lately that they got their license back...........

I lived in Abby for 18 years. I learned about the prices at Hub long ago. Even though it was 10 mins from my house I would still travel out of town to the other stores to get what I needed.
Sometimes however I would go in just to see if they had something i needed in a pinch. The blank look on some guys' faces was priceless.
"can I help you?"... " uh ya, I just need some case lube and some walnut shells"
They had no clue what I was talking about and they would stare at me with a blank look.
"uhh.. is that for fishing?"

Yes, Roger is a great guy and some of the other guys in there are really good to deal with. Others I questioned as to how they got the job.

Some guys are solely 'fish guys' and have to be directed to the only rem 870 in the rack by " 3rd on the left...no no your other left ":p

Hey hoochie,

I just moved up the valley to abbotsford... are there any other notable stores in abbotsford or or Chilliwack?

Funny how these threads informing fellow CGN's about gouging dealers who are not paid advertisers on CGN remain . But say something negative about a dealer who is on CGN & it will be nuked in a hot minute

I notice that too. But I am more than happy to point out the short comings of all stores / dealers.

But, to be fair to a store I don't know or will ever see. Can you really compare a commercial price with the price of reloads??

(still expensive though...)

I have found with hubs and chilliwack dart and tackle all you have to do is ask for some $$ off and they will usally give you a discount. Just bullsh*t with them for a bit and buy a larger quantity and you'll save.

40% discount would make them onpar with market value...... that seems fair... even if you get a 30% discount (standard retail markup on cost) there still 10% over priced
