Sounds like a fun course, glad the flooding hasn't ruined it.

As you guys come in to Longview this week throw a wave at the drilling rig on the South side of town; that's me.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend a good sling that I might be able to find in Calgary when I get there? I've been so focused on ammunition and practice that I completely discounted an appropriate sling. I am looking for something like the Carolina Mountain Shooter sling (something with a quick cuff or similar) but nobody around Saskatoon has anything like this and I'm far too late to order one. I'll drop by TSE when I get there but I really have no idea where else to look.

911 Supply in Calgary carries 5.11 - their site shows the VTAC 2 point sling.

For more of a Carolina/hasty/ready/safari type sling, I'd try Bass Pro, WSS or Proline Shooters (if they're open since the flood), and TSE of course. Maybe the Calgary Shooting Centre also?

You really won't be needing a sling too much to shoot with. Got a rear bunny bag of some sort? How about a Yoga mat to make yerself comfortable on yer belly?

Okay, Longview clinic lovers....

I'm in Regina McD's grabbing a quick salad for dinner. Swift Current tonight. Tomorrow I'll be in Okotoks and then helping with Buckaroo's Longview range and getting ready. I got lots of time here and I promise the most fun and laughs you can have with yer clothes on! :D

And yup, as the Thunder Bay M14 lovers how much I use my laughter to abuse them on the CQB firing line. LOL :evil:

Okay, the drive from Swift Current, SK was uneventful. I'm glad to be here in Okotoks, AB. Tomorrow, we got to do a range recce and start the preparation process.
Anybody need directions to Buckaroo's ranch south of Longview? Send me a PM

Forecast for the weekend says isolated showers with less than 1mm of precipitation. At least we are not gonna get sunfzcked.... :D

More updates:

Just completed my Range Recce this afternoon. I got a big Barrett surprise for all of you. :evil:

Bring bug dope, as MikeyT suggested above. Wear protection, not a condom (you guys are corrupted), I mean sunscreen! :nest:

At the big rock (greeting you at the entrance to the Ranch) Take RIGHT FORK

Follow the double ribbons through TWO white cattle gates. Close the gate behind you, but last car in a convoy, close that sumbeeeyotch, cattle are active.

Follow the trail/ road down to the river valley. You will see my WHITE Toyota Tacoma truck (no girlie truck jokes, I'm warning ya)

Plan to gather at 0830 and we will have a casual start at 0900. Bring a lot of snacks and lunch. We have poopers or porta potties being delivered late tonight. More on that tomorrow. I'm doing target prep all day tomorrow at the ranch.

Those of you camping at Tails and Trails campground, I'm at the Blue Sky Motel (almost nextdoor, no kidding). My White Tacoma will let you know if I'm in tomorrow night, that's when I officially check in (Saturday night). Drop by for you campers.

Hey, can anybody bring a large brown paper grocery bag? You know, that kind that needs 2 hands to carry, big sucker!! :) Okay, Update: 44bear says he got four of them. Thanks, all!

I'm here in Okotoks tonight then tomorrow, Saturday, I'm at the Ranch.
