Hungry Review of SEI (Smith Ent) M14 Brake Adapter (More M14 ####)

Barney

When one orders one of these, are there any additional parts or screws that need to be ordered as well??

I want one of these so I can try my 308-AR flash hidders and break on my M-14 shortie.

Thx in advance

AbH

YES, you will need a castle nut set screw with SAE threads. Brownells or Springfield Armory should have them for sale. They are not hard to get, just annoying since you may as well buy other things to get your order high enough to make it worthwhile.

I have spares of these M1A or American thread castle nut set screws... :D

Mildot, you were yakking about the front sight heights... really simple. If you install this SEI adaptor on your 22" barrel then use the existing front sight (lower) . Conversely, if you are using the 18.5" shorty barrel, just re-install the taller front sight post that came with the shorty.

Barney

I dunno about your needs, but I just could not resist the move to something shorter! And also something easy to install, now it's something that allows all kinds of other interesting 5/8" x 24 tpi accessories. :dancingbanana:

One of these days, I gonna buy a brake and install it. And now I can have my .308 SPS Tac barrel threaded for 5/8" x 24 tpi so that I can swap these add-on toys! ;)

Cheers,
Barney

so what kind of brake were you thinking of going with?

Do you know of any suppliers of AR 10 brakes in Canada?

A buddy of mine is digging through is spare parts pile for an Armalite unit of some sort, kinda like a 2 chamber brake he sez.... :D

I will take a pic when we find it and then install it. :)

Cheers,
Barney

Here is what I have on my SEI 18.5" Sage Rifle.

I put the Griffin Armament Flash Comp, it is a hybrid comp (flash hider and compensator)
