I was worried about this too. Just installed the low profile version with the ejection port cut out. No problem using the irons without the scope (or rings) installed.
Feels solid and no stripping issues experienced.

Can you, M14 Doc, or someone who has this mount clarify if you can see through the picatiny rail and use the iron sights?

Well Jerry sent me a replacement, it installed fine torqued to 90 in lbs... I had removed the mount and just today decided to reinstall it. That POS stripped out like the last one. Where do you get an ARMS bolt?

call A.R.M.S. and they will happily send you one for a fee , just don't tell em it's for a promag mount hehehehe
