Hunt dangerous animals until sunset and the way back

Thank you for all the responces.

Yes, I know what that law dictates, and I know what I will do, too.

Lots of cases, when everyone in the woods could meet similar situation, another example could be danger from growing population of cougars in Ontario:

(Please forgive me if I'm wrong, did not read anything about those large cats and their habits, may be they are sleeping after sunset, however cat are night hunters... ;) )

It should be something about reasonable measures for wilderness self-protection - if you cannot give me an ATC my handgun, let me defend myself with my rifle ( shotgun), which is already with me!

Another situation, already mentioned by daveg01: late hunt and success - deer harvested, you field dressed it and now walking through the forest with bloody meat, where that 600lb-bear ( or cougar) looking for a food in such bad year like this...

I do not like to break any law, but survival instinct badly pushing to do this, even I'm not a chicken, believe me. :) And I am not a poacher too!!!
Why cleaver lawmakers do not think, forgot about regular us?

NB: Almost similar situation with your own property protection against intruders - no one can use own firearms to protect your home, your family!!!

I think ya missed my point, I was not worrying about legalities. We are worried about.............. DA BEARS!

The bears are not a big item to worry about, stepping wrong and breaking an ankle is something more realistic to worry about. ;)

If the sticklers for rules wanna get sticky, walking through the bush with a camera looking to take pictures of game animals is hunting also!!

Now that I think about it, here in Sask the big item for having your firearm encased is when traveling through protected areas, can't remember anything about having it cased for travel to/from a stand or blind.

I think there will be use of common sense , a CO is not going to hassle you about leaving or going to your blind in dark not at legal hunting time or when you are returning with game and your rifle after legal hours.

You don't have to have your bow encased en route , you can't have it on an ATV in certain zones, as with rifles.

I could legally drive right to my stand if I could with the rifle in the truck, unloaded of course.

How about waling to your stand in the a.m. in the dark?

In the evenin, what if it's a bow hunt?QUOTE]

A gun or bow still have to be in a case. AM or PM

Trust me if he didn’t come out while you were ready he isn’t coming out when you’re making noise leaving. And when he finally gets you outta there he will be concentrating on the bait not you.
