I was looking @ some photos from hunting season and I realized there is no place I would rather be than out there. Miles from anythings. Little lake in front of the camp. You can do whatever you want to, drink beer all day long, smoke cigars and shoot the #### with everyone. You get to hear stories from long ago. Im only 20 and I get to hear all the old stories. Our camp was built around 1900 along the river that exits the lake. It eventually fell down and this one was built around the 50's.

Theres alot of history in old places like this and I just cant get enough of it, so I figured I would share some pics.

The camp is powered @ night by a propane powered Onan generator rigged to run on the 100 LB tanks. It powers our lights, TV (so we can watch Hockey Night in Canada), and radio. We go in by ATV. The hole with the guy stuck in the mud is one of the little ones! We hire a farmer where we park our trucks to haul a wagon in, then out again after 2 weeks, with his 4x4 tractor. Usually 15 guys in the camp each week, during hunting season.

Anyone else got a nice place in the middle of nowhere they wanna share some pics of?

Hey Pure Energy,

I thought that countryside looked familiar. What's the name of your camp?

Here's a pic of our camp, the Beaver Meadow Hunt Club, near Restoule. Built around the same time your's was.

I love seeing these pictures, I do swear I have been there before but yet again maybe it is just my need to be in the woods and out of the city.

Here's our moose camp. It's not a fancy building, but we can't have a permanent structure on crown land. We just put it up every year, and it's nice and comfortable for the week or so that we are there every fall.:)

The other leg, and biggest part is where we sleep and eat

The last is a shot of the little lake we hunt off of, about 250 yards from camp.

Man those pics look awsome.

I don't know if hunt camps are an eastern thing, or if I just don't know the right people, but I don't know anyone who hunts out of a regular camp like those....

Our camp, two story log cabin built in 96, and we put the addition on it 2 summers ago. This is a pic when we were doing that...

Here's a couple from last years deer and moose seasons, two different camps built to the same specs.

ditto that, that jeep is the cats ass..... we have a couple pickups around town modified like that I hear it was $10k-$20k per tire to set them up.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????????

That's crazy! I'm sure for $40-80 Grand you could buy a used snow cat with a lot more room?

yeah but the ones that we see for rent here in town are full size ford crew cabs with longboxes.... hard to beat that for comfort and room.

Boomer, that Jeep with the tracks is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

What does a setup like that cost?

The Matt Tracks for the Jeep were $35,000.00 on site. They are available with suspension for an extra $10K, and again an extra $10K for a full size pick-up. The steering components of the Jeep aren't up to it and had to be beefed up. The tracks work really well, and I've only been stuck twice, once coming up from the sea ice on a steep grade and I fell into a hole I didn't see because the sun in my eyes - actually it wasn't a hole, just a narrow space between two drifts and the rig ended up on it's nose. The other time was again trying to climb a grade, this time in sugar and I just lost traction. I was able to winch out both times.
