Oh stop being so critical, I just find it frustrating that because I am not rich and wealthy I cannot afford to hunt our own resources but people from other countries who are rich can afford to do so...

I think there is nothing wrong with me wishing to be able to take advantage of our own resources but cannot because of finance. I am a hard working student but apologize for not being wealthy.

I am not condoning the activities, I am simply expressing how I feel about not be able to do this, have you never mindlessly #####ed about something before?

Give him a break guys. He's feeling entitled and being a student he is surrounded by the entitled, and he has lots of time to come up with things to ##### about. I'm just angry that I couldn't afford school and my parents wouldn't pay for it so I couldn't go, so you shouldn't either. Stupid rich students.
 
Conservation groups continue to sound the alarm over the bears.

"Canada is home to two-thirds of the world's polar bears, and the southernmost polar bear population lives here with you in Ontario, but not necessarily for long, unless something is done about it," Richard Branson, a British billionaire and the founder of Virgin, told a Toronto press conference Tuesday. "Climate change and disappearing ice are forcing polar bears to go ashore earlier every year than they did the year before, preventing them from properly nourishing themselves.

Williams, the wildlife consultant in Nunavut, says there is a lot of misinformation about polar bears.

"When I go south, I get approached by people who say 'My goodness, you have actually seen a polar bear?'" he said. "There's this belief that there are 10 left, and they are all on this one iceberg as it melts away and they are going to drown -- and that's not the case."

There are options, like move to a northern community, get a job, and on the days you're not working get out on the land, and appreciate what nature has to offer. That way you don't have to be rich, and you can still hunt caribou, and moose, and go fishing all on your own dime.

I god damn well are not feeling entitled, I thought on a friendly forum filled with people of the same interest I could express my wishes of how I would like to do something that I cant, so you have never complained to your neighbor or wife about something you cant do, sometimes it just feels better. My parents cant afford to send me to school but I got something called a job and worked hard to afford it, I have yet to take out a single loan or gotten a bursary. You have no idea who I am and what I do, Don't judge me.

Oh and because someone has never been up north means they have no right to discuss this topic, ok, ill shut up from now on whenever there is something being discussed that I have no experience with. You must be mr perfect, who has experienced everything and knows it all. I see nothing wrong with stating my opinion, you seem to state your opinion very clearly all the time, yet I don't insult you.

I honestly just was talking in a forum about something I want to do one day, but can't now, did a little #####ing, as I have seen all of you ##### about many topics before one here, what the hell is wrong with you all, This is suppose to be a friendly forum where we exchange knowledge and facts etc and help people not as experienced, yet you select few use it as a chance to rip apart anyone that they disagree with or find some flaw to insult.

The problem was you original post didn't ask a question... it made a statement... and while you may say it is your opinion and you are entitled to it you are wrong.... people are only entitled to opinions after they have done some research on the subject they are opining on.... If you would have looked into the tag system in the first place you would have known how it works and maybe you wouldn't have thrown this opinion out so willingly....

If your professor at school asked you to write a paper on the Polar bear hunt and you put as little effort into it as you did your first post I would think you would score fairly low....

Okay, I can try and end these posts by first admitting sure, I could have done some research into it, that can never hurt and definitely would have helped this situation, but literally all I meant by it was "wow I wish I could do that" its a simple dream or wish or something you hope for like winning the lottery etc. But I do believe I am entitled to state my statement or opinion whatever you call it on these forums without being harassed by many people. I had a much different view of these forums until now.
 
if you REALLY want a POLAR BEAR rug, you can get one made from PLASTIC and FLEECE at wal-mart for 29.95 or so- it's in with the blankets and throw rugs- just thought i'd throw that out there- just like you could get PLASTIC deer mounts from woolco years ago- i have 2 of those- one of which has a MOOSE RACK on a whitetail head
they are available on flea-beay for about 200 us- i should imagine those are very nice fakes

Haha that is awesome, thank you, I just may have to head over there today.. A simple and light hearted solution that will save me thousands! and politic free, until someone starts debating on if walmart is a ethical/environmental store blah blah haha

I understand some being outraged at your initial statement about "foreigners".... Since you admit you were wrong and say it doesn't read as intended I will take it at face value... cheers

Let's put some dollar figures on your opinion.:D

In 1996 the estimated revenue from hunting activities in Canada was $11 billion. Even with the slowly declining number of hunters in North America inflation adds to that figure. So let's say it is now $20 billion Canada wide adjusted for inflation.

In 2004 in Saskatchewan roughly 15% of the hunters were foreign (mostly American). Now, lets use that 15% as a base (although it's probably higher in Ontario and elsewhere)for all of Canada. That translates to approx $3 billion added to the Canadian economy annually by foreign hunters.

That's not chump change and these figures are probably low.

A lot of the areas that benefit from this annual influx of dollars depend on this money to sustain themselves and their communities year round. It is no wonder that people jumped on you and see your opinion as uninformed and naive.

I guess I can agree to that, sorry took it all to personally, I guess there is nothing wrong with a little flaming when someone makes a stupid comment lol, keeps things exciting and active
