Hunting along Hydro lines/rail lines in southern Ontario

Well Fergie

On My land in Manitoba Hydro bought the land under their tower lines so that there is no question about access. They let me do what ever I want with the land but they own it and pay the taxes on it and I believe it is still considered to be private property not crown land

OP asked about south ontario in original post. in ontario if the lines are on "private property" and you don't have permission your tresspassing. hydro do not own the land the lines are on, i do. on my land there is hydro lines and i own and pay the taxes. they were here this winter to clear under the lines and left me a notice two months in advance that they would be on "my property" and they also ask at times if they can go through the fields to get to the lines and if i refuse them they have to come from the nearest road. i don't have to give them access through the rest of the property.
but as i said before, i don't know the rules elsewhere.

if hydro bought the land under the lines. and they are the owners, would you not need permission for them? would you not be tresspassing on hydro's private property????
i'm just saying....

one of the reasons i get upset when people around here start walking down these hydro lines. and again, around here where i live, it's all on private property. there maybe the odd place where it's on crown and i have no problem if the lines are on crown land and people go hunting there, we all own it.
people start walking down these lines and the land owners and other hunters don't know they are there. accidents do happen and that really sits in the back of my head.
if someone that doesn't have permission gets shot by me and i own the land, i'm in a whole world of trouble aren't i???? he or she wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. we all know accidents can and do happen.

again, i know what i own and i know if i catch someone they will be told politly the first time. if it happened again, they would be charged.
i've also given pictures to the opp of trespassers on the hydro lines and they couldn't identify them or they would have been charged.
