Hunting Books that I'd Highly Recommend - Please add to the list

The Upper Yukon: Another Look At Wilderness Hunting
By Dave Barnett

I am not sure if it is still in print? I got a signed, origional copy a while back. a good read if you get a chance...

jerry parker from nova scotia is a retired research biologist ,from the canadian wildlife service he wrote and collected quite and impressive collection of old hunting and fishing archives from around the maritimes, one is men of the autumn woods, the other is beyound the trodden path, he has a few other writtings that i haven't got the time to put my hands on but will!!!it is most excellent reading for somebody who likes anything to do with the outdoors.

I've read and own pretty much everything I could my hands on from
Jack O'Connor, Andy Russell, Gene Hill and Gordon MacQuarrie.
Some other pretty good stuff as well from Burton Spiller, Dr. Charles Norris,
George Bird Evans and Frank Woolner. Should also mention Havilah Babcock,
Nash Buckingham, Corey Ford, John Gierach and Thomas McGuane.

Gun books count right? A few gun books I have bought.

Dangerous Game Rifles, Terry Weiland
Rock in a Hard Place: The Browning Automatic Rifle, James Ballou
The Lee-Enfield: A Century of Lee-Metford and Lee-Enfield Rifles & Carbines, Ian Skennerton

Not too much of a book reader but I did like grand slam by chuck Adams. Full of small short stories that you could pick up and put down. Walks you through the timeline of his grand slam with a bow one animal trophy story at a time.

Courious George & The Man With The Yellow Hat, very infomative although I'm no longer certain permits for primates are still available.A gripping tale made all the more terrifying as it was a pop-up book ,scared the hell outa me.
things seem a bit to serious around here lately

Triple reccomend any thing by JIM CORBET especially MANEATERS OF KUMAON. Also HUNTERS HORN (not by Capstick) A deep and dark story about hill people hunting a particular fox

Gun Dog Training Made Easy

Not sure if this fits in but...Gun Dog Training Made Easy by Eric Begbi. There are a series of lessons arranged in sequence corresponding to the age of the puppy. I have used the training successfully with an older dog and its easy to understand and follow.
