One shot one kill?
Yes in a perfect situation.
Most bolt guns carry more then one round btw.
One shot one kill?
Is everyone on this thread too young to know what a Win Model 100 rifle (carbine even better) in .308 is? Too bad...
then your thoughts are not on getting more money for a higher priced rifleI love it when you guys say "rethink your budget". All the thinking in the world hasn't put more money in MY funbank yet.
In a hunting rifle, as compared to a range/target toy....your choices are the Remington semi(740/7400) and the Browning Bar. I have heard that the remingtons are both jammers and not accurate............
And one last thing: do a little more research before you throw out the "remi semi".
Yes, the 740 and 7400 were known as Jamamatics, but they haven't been produced for some time............
The 30-06 is the most available round in the world, you can go anywhere and will find it on the shelf for less (only the 30-30 is cheaper, but, availablity is limited to NA). The available choices for ammo allow for small to big game. A remington 750 in 30-06 is a good choice for what you are looking for with the Browning BAR a little higher up in quality, cost and weight. Stay away from the Remington 740/742 as they did have issues.
I'd hold off until after the federal election before investing big dollars in a BAR or suchlike.
If a worst case scenario happens and "the beard" becomes PM he might make a grab for the handguns and semis.
If a NDP government delegates the authority to ban guns to a province gun owners in Alberta, Quebec and Ontario with socialist governments might be feeling the ban bite.
Like it or not it's a possibility and there's no sense sticking your head in the sand and pretending otherwise.
Soon as a semi ban happens it's either turn them in for no compensation, export them or deactivate them.
Sure they aren't registered and you can hide them but what's the point if you can't take them out and hunt with them?
just how soon "could" this actual ban take place? I have a number of s/a that I would like to sell off before this possible ban may happen. I'm not even using them, so why sit on them. I have a gun show coming up in Dec, but could that be too late by then?
