That's the key!
Everything you do in Ontario has to be paid for.
Example?
I sort of like to cross country ski. Haven't done it in the longest time, but found myself owning a set of skis and poles and decided to hit the snows. Turns out that all ski trails around Toronto are for $$, like $15 a day. Of course I flipped a bird at that nonsense and am skiing around the pond in the community for now. But this tells you that the only thing we don't have to pay for is breathing.
The entire of BC crown land is my range; I don't have to pay range fees, I can enjoy walking around in nature, I don't get hot casings bouncing off my head from the guy next to me and there are no range nazi's to fly off the handle and harass me and everyone around because their 4 year 4 shot sighting in session on their .22 has been interrupted by the existance of someone else at "their" range
