done that here, locals will still hunt but city folk hopefully slowed!!

each state varies somewhat from being allowed to hunt with 2 person limit, to fishing for food an excersize which covers hunting in that state, but in my state its all OFF at the moment....

travel should be the biggest Say on if you can hunt or not... the 15 minutes down the road to half hour, cool, the hour plus... not ideal.

In central Ontario , what Toronto calls northern Ontario guys go to hunt camp together crowded in small camps with everyone sitting , sleeping , eating and breathing right beside each other and everyone takes a turn butchering and handling the meat along with shared groceries and camp duties . I think you hit the nail on the head! Northwestern Ontario will feel the pain again for sure. Everyone with the exception of the folks from Southern Ontario solo hunt or hunt with extremely small parties. I hope they don’t cancel the spring bear hunt and leave at least the small game season up. It would not bother me in the least about putting restrictions for more urban folks to stay home.
From south of the French River? Stay south and hunt there

As far as Ontario goes they have been, in essence, putting a stop to hunting and fishing already without decreeing it.
Many boat ramps/launches, piers, provincial parks and county forests that come under municipal, provincial jurisdiction have been closed with signs. They wouldn't have any control over private lands, yet. Thankfully I hunt turkeys on private property.
 
Seasonal accommodations; hunting and fishing, and other resorts have been closed by order of the Ontario government as of this morning. That includes camp-grounds.
 
I can walk out my backdoor and be into elk in about 20 minutes, and I rarely see another human when I'm out. If they cancel hunting season, I'm thinking I'll carry on with a camera but I'm still getting out into the bush regardless.
 
enjoy your 2020 and 2021 hunting and fishing, physical distancing, not hard to do. Dont hunt in groups, who does anyways? Doesnt affect me ....
 
When people no longer have income, and very little food it wont matter....people will hunt. September is along ways away...people will be broke and desperate here in Canada. Italy is already having people run out of food and planning on looting markets.

What are they gonna do? Give you fine, put you in jail...they are letting guys out of jails..not putting them in them right now. LEOs are told to ignore non essential calls.
 
What about guaranteed group size for moose in Ontario? This would be the last year for it looking at the changes that are coming!

That is why I do not think provinces will not mess too much with hunting seasons. What would be the point except to rile up an already stressed out populace for no real good reason as most hunting is done with very limited contact with others at least in my experience. As has been said preventing people from hunting will push some folks to become poachers. However I could see provinces limiting group sizes and closing campgrounds to limit and prevent contact. That may or may not affect people depending on where and how you hunt.

Makes you a little more disappointed because for some people "social distancing" is out in nature not 2m apart but 5-7 km apart.
Now tell me please people is that "distance" enough for the government!!!!!!

Where did this information come from. Ontario is still selling licences. I bought my turkey and deer licence this morning online.
