Hunting Seasons - Pandemic Hunting - ????

The sad part for me is my oldest finally came of age to take the course thks year..... For obvious reasons, no courses will be given....... Bummer....

yeah i have 3 friends that booked PAL / Hunter courses this spring. ive been telling them for the last 2 years to go get it, now they booked it and this happened. this will be my first year hunting, starting off with some yotes but looking forward to learning.

With all the Service Ontario closed and now Can tire closed..... anyone know how turkey licences are supposed to work?

If anything they should stop all out of province hunts and make everyone hunt locally ..live in a city ? Sorry no hunting for you until this clears up.. it’s unfortunate but you know they aren’t going to allow hoards of cidiots race out to every small town in the back country of each province and spread this virus like a wildfire.. it’s *mostly* contained to cities if you’ve noticed...

So I can't drive to the private hunting property that I own?

Everyone is watching closely but nothing being said yet. They will want their tag money and we can hunt and follow the protocols currently established. Think they will let it go, pretty big money in BC.

I don’t see it happening either in BC, maybe they will shut down non resident hunting and limit people to hunting locally. Which will happen by default anyway, with all the provincial camp sites closed I highly doubt anyone will be renting any accommodations in any small rural towns to out of towners.

As for solo hunting, that's great but unless you live close to where you hunt, bought tags etc online and don't need to pick up any supplies or get gas otw, you run the risk.... But is the risk worth the return? Only you can answer that for yourself.

I’m good, bought tags online, have plenty of fuel and can ride my quad from my house 5 min and I’m on an fsr and hunting. The risk is worth the return for me and I’ll be hunt regardless this fall.

Same here.

...and then I'll go hunting! :D

Will be business as usual around here, I know I won’t be the only one out regardless of the outcome.

well no gatherings of more then.... what 4 or 5 people that is going to put a damper on 'hunt camp'

oh wait we don't hunt that way, and I solo hunt mostly so that covers the social distancing

I can see provinces that are 'hunt camp' hunting cancel hunting season or put on some heavy restrictions on 'gatherings'

After a few days in camp, some of us don't qualify as human, or 'peoplekind'

Our moose camp is small, if someone is sick we all get it. eight guys
We pretty much depend on the others to stay the hell home if they're sick, so with Covid , we're in trouble if someone brings it in.

I’m hoping nothing gets canceled in Alberta.
We are booked with Andrew at Alberta’s Fall Flight in May.
I wanna knock down some snows, the man has a great reputation.

In large areas of Ontario open fires have been banned. This could negatively affect the spring hunt for many. Cooking and staying warm may be a problem.

In bc campfire are still good from what I gather, large burn piles are not allowed. As for a campfire alternative, with all the forest fires and fire bans we’ve had for the past 2-3 seasons a lot of people switched to propane fire pits. While it’s not the same as wood it’s better than nothing and you can still roast weenies etc over it, Coleman stove for actual cooking.

Fire bans generally don't include fires related to food preparation, but you never know. I personally wouldn't worry about the fall of 2020.

As far as hunting in Ontario this spring or this fall. If they continue bans on numbers of people congregating, that's your only concern.

Ontario is so reliant on provincial fees to float this place they'll never stop licencing, that's why the LCBO stays open.
They close liquor stores and we're bankrupt in 3 weeks
