hunting vehicle

I think a canopy would do better for sneaky bears at night. The tent is a good idea as long as it's a bear free area.

 There are bear-free hunting areas in Canada?

We tent right in the densest grizzly population in Canada whilst hunting them, don't worry you'll be fine! :d

Ardent knows what he speaks of. That photo was taken on a black bear hunt in the part of Ontario with pretty much the highest density of black bears in the province. I just put the food cooler in the cab of the truck overnight.

your suv is in pristine condition. How do you maintain it like that?

Alberta is not hard on vehicles due to dry conditions , no salt on the roads like the east coast .They use rocks instead but very hard on windshields , every third vehicle has a broken windshield . Alberta is terrible at road maintenance

You should take a wander around Saskatchewan, I have been more places in Alberta (working) than I have been in Sask, but our roads in many places are deplorable.

In my opinion the suzuki samurai/jimny is the perfect hunting vehicle.
Not much bigger then a quad, lightweight, simple design, and very cheap.
It can go pretty much anywhere. Less then half the cost of side by side, and street legal.
It's kinda hard to find one in canada in good condition. I import a couple of them from japan every so often.
If anyone is interested in one, send me a message I should have 2 seacans arriving in Canada sometime this fall.

*same can be said for kei-trucks, like what rice farmers use. great cheap utility vehicle and with a decent sized box*

i have. soft spot for samurai, never owned one but like the look of them, how much does them cost you, all in, rickymo?

depends on the condition but you can get them anywhere from $1200-8000 depending on the model and condition. cost just shy of $1000 to ship them overseas, register, and make them street legal in canada.

Thanks Phil. I'm just getting into the float flying. She's a 59 Cessna 180B. I'd think these would be a pretty common sight throughout Alaska and the Yukon. I'm hoping to take the kids up there soon (this summer maybe) to see Kluane.
