Hunting with black rifles and semis. Who here does?

The 9mm is a great utility round. The sub2k is an interesting design.

Tavor w/ a Leupold VX-R 1.25-4x, on really ####ty days I'll bring out an old beater SKS I have and I plan on getting a Mini-14 in the near future. It'll take a while but I plan on getting another VX-R in the 2-7× range for it.

I hunt with a Non-Res Bushy ACR in .223. I've bagged two gophers, one coyote and dispatched a beaver. I wish I had more time to hunt with it.
I took my Norc M305 for two Whitetail seasons, although I never saw any deer.

I shoot more than 40 different firearms, but I don't own a single autoloader. Nothing against them, just don't like them as much as other types.

What's your favorite out of all those?
Can't name one favourite, but four is about the minimum, not counting small game and birds:
Brno 22F 7x57 is my favourite for deer in the bush - handles like a good upland bird gun. I can hit running game with it like an extension of thought. Carries light and lively. punches above its weight.
Sako AV Classic .35 Whelen is my favourite for elk. Precise, a bit heavy but stable in offhand positions and very very decisive at any reasonable angle or range.
A Krieghoff drilling, 7x57R under twin 16 ga barrels, with a .22 magnum insert. Claw mounted scope for instant choice of irons or 3-9x magnification. Supremely versatile, for anything that I might bump into as I wander the bush.
Sako AIV Safari .375H&H for all African game and sometimes moose and elk and bears at home. Classic beauty and function and the ability to hunt anything on earth.

Picked the head of a partridge with my bone stock SKS in 2015, carried the 9X57 Mauser last year.

the first game animal i killed was a rabbit with a semi auto cooey 22LR
the second was a grouse I also decapitated with a bone stock SKS-D ..... that was a long time ago......

I've taken a bunch of deer, 2 coyote, 2 black bears and a small bull moose with the "m14" platform. It's my go to quad and truck rifle, in fact our entire hunting crew have modified m14 types as camp guns. I built every one of them myself.
