hunting with Norinco M305 in Nova Scotia

This is the second post of the exact same question. I provided the relevant part of the current Nova Scotia regulations verbatim . Saltbait obviously doesn't want an actual answer, merely troll away

Can too. As I am NOT in the geographic regions stated, there is no caliber restriction. That is the way I read it.
"A person hunting small game may not carry or use a rifle of greater calibre than a .275-calibre rifle, except a muzzle-loading gun, in the geographic areas of Brant, Chatham-Kent, Durham, Elgin, Essex, Haldimand, Halton, Hamilton, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, Niagara, Norfolk, Northumberland, Oxford, Peel, Perth, Toronto, Waterloo, Wellington or York."
Staight from the Regs, under Small Game.

NO YOU CANNOT use it in S Ontario. See the hunting regs. You better hope you are never checked by a CO if you do.

eaglesnester; A 308 with the proper hunting round is lethal out to 800 meters if U do your part.[/QUOTE said:
Please think before you post the suggestion of a half mile shot!!! Nova Scotia is not Alberta or Saskatchewan and our pubic ranges are 100 yards. We don't grow up shooting at long distances. I'd guess that a tiny percentage of NS hunters would be practiced and capable out to 300 yards. I doubt that a Norinco semi is much more than 200 to 250 yard rifle, with an excellent shooter at the helm. Respectfully, BF

I've hunted in NS, and it typically is close in woods hunting. A 100 yard shot is probably at or above average. The old' man has hunted there for nearly 50 years, with a handful of shots over 100 yards. Open sights are just fine if you can e proficient with them.

Any decent shooting M305 should be fine for deer hunting there.

I see no suggestion to shoot out to 1/2 mile, eaglesnester was just stating the caliber capability.
