Hunting with odd calibers/firearms

Some years ago I shot a Doe with a Snider-Enfield .577. She dropped in her tracks. The recovered bullet was doughnut shaped. This was an original cartridge. Big boom-lots of smoke! It was a Searget's model 2 band from the QOR . JITC....I sold it later.

cape rifle

This year I've been using a cape rifle in 43 Mauser on the rifle side and 16 gauge on the shotgun side .I managed to regulate the slug load and the rifle load so they shoot within 4 inches at 100 yards.I had my camera along for two of the kills so here's the pictures

I have a Rem model 14 made in 1910 chambered in 30 remington. ballistics wise it's almost identical to the 30-30 so it's perfect for deer, but obviously the ammo is hard to come by.

On an aside, if anyone has 30 rem ammo or brass pm me
