Hi folks,
Slowly getting back into things from a 15 yr mia from hunting....Question - specific to Nova Scotia....anyone know if you can hunt with a restricted rifle?
Thanks

well then again if you can get the CFO to issue you a transport permit to where your going hunting

and

your provincial hunting regs allow you to hunt with restricted firearms

then your good to go.

It's a shame we can only load a restricted firearm where it is legal to discharge it. Hunting at the range property with an ar would be awesome. However. Not allowed because only the actual range areas are approved. The rest of the land is just land.

I guess you could try for a Wilderness Carry permit.

How does anyone with a PAL/RPAL not know this? Damn!

Patrick

Because when the provisions of C-68 came into force, an FAC holder did not need to take the course in order to get a PAL, it was a straight transition from the authorization to the license. Perhaps he never even re-registered his rifle after the change, doesn't have an ATT, doesn't belong to a range, and hasn't kept up on how the Firearms Act affects him.

Just a question for the OP (and not meant to be mean), but how would you go hunting with a restricted if you don't even have the RPAL?
