I'd say repeatability under actual field conditions shooting a 10" gong.
Fair enough, what would be the rate of success? Would it have to be 100% at all distances.
These guys are no match for you sheephunter. The more they talk the more ......
BTW I totally agree with you on every point.

For me yes. If I can't hit a gong every time at a certain distance with no pressure to shoot, I have to believe my odds go way down when a real animal is in front of me. The same rules would apply for much shorter range shooting too from the standing position. To me the gong is the great equalizer and my benchmark as to my ability.
By using a 10 inch gong as the standard do you consider a shot that does not hit the vitals as a miss or a marginal hit.
Perhaps a coach alongside would rectify that.![]()
I've had the benefit of being coached by some of North America's best shooters booth with rifle and shotgun.....you bet it rectified a lot.
We know you're the best sheephunter, but thanks for reminding us anyhow..........repeatedly.
so who has a huskemaw scope and how reliable is it?
Buddy of mine had a family member buy him a Huskemaw. Shoots ok so far but I do not hold it in high regard. The clarity sucks. Hazy image at best after tinkering with it at the range. Significantly lower quality optic than a VXI, does not even come close when compared to a VX3 or Swarovski. I have an ancient Bushnell Banner from when I was kid that has a clearer sight picture than the Huskemaw. Considering the quality of optics Leupold is offering in the $400 range, I would expect more from something in the Huskemaw price range.
Keep in mind, every program on WildTV is flogging some kind of crap, whether it be a junky knife, poorly made clothing, scorpion optics or huskemaws. Best of the West is especially well planned as far as marketing a product. They convince the trailer park snipers and rookies to buy Huskemaw. Just because some guy on tv says it's great, doesn't make it true. Buyer beware.
But, despite my dislike for the scope, and my desire to see the video of bad shots that never air, I do recall the hosts of Best in the West commenting on knowing your rifle, knowing your bullet, and practicing.
Want more proof? Who needs a cell phone?
