If you got a m98 in 9.3x57 why would you wanna change it? I would either shoot it as it is, or ream it to 9.3x62...
most of those Husqvarna's in 9.3x57 can't really take a lot of abuse I would not go with a more powerful cartridge like the x62

Hmm, my 98 in 9.3 x 57 is likely as strong as it needs to be. Perhaps ' Blanket pronunciations ' should be amended...
It should be just a simple barrel swap. Just for the hell of it I ran a magazine full of .250 through one of my M98's and it fed beautifully. I would prefer an M98 over the M96.
If i got a 96 or 98 action in 9.3x57 how much gunsmithing would be involved to feed the smaller 250 savage? Could I possibly get by with just a barrel swap?
I was wondering how much stronger it could be?
My 98 seems to handle the 366 Wagner just fine. Interestingly enough, Peter Paul Mauser thought it was strong enough for the 9.3x62. Silly over optimistic Germans!

Well 250's parent case is an 30-06 is it not? At .473" it is identical to the 8 x 57, the bolt face will not be a problem. Magazine, who knows, but bolt face is identical.
