Like others said, unfortunately, if Trade Ex don't have them available, your only other choice is to have another made...

Depends of what you call "1600" and which model of "commercial" M98 you're looking at.

The real 1600 average weight is 6 lbs, 6 Oz.
The average 1640 weight is 7 lbs 1/4
The typical "commercial" '98 arrangement (640) weights +/- 7 3/4 lbs.
 
Weight can vary a lot with wood density and the "commercial" Husqvarna FN '98 action rifle(s)" stocked with beech rather than with walnut are generally the heaviest.

I've a 98 in 9.3 x 57 that has a thumb cutout and the charger bridge intact. Mauser SSR and this unit is almost clear of markings; got a S.N. and the 'Husqvarna Vapenfabriks A. B. Kal 9.3 mm' & a small 'Circle C' under the bolt handle. Military 2 stage trigger with the only showy bits area a 'tech' of checkering and a case hardened bolt release.

It's a model 146. made 1937 to 1941. Need the SN to date it. They were made with pulled from the chain military actions which were scrubbed of markings.
 
Thanks. It's a nice clean ( almost boring it's so clean ) rifle. I enjoy carrying and harvesting deer with it... works marvellous in more populated rural settings like my locale. At about 350 yds it's in the dirt ( unless you had the bbl at about 15° of course).

Why I love them. I've a 90° window North and South that is clear to shoot Carte Blanche...but East and west...Ranch houses hiding in the trees ( on the Creek). The hunting is freaking great...but your discipline had better be tight.
Got a bullet hole in my garage window...I hate it when a hunter wanders in with a 300 WM or such. Like " Ummm....not a good choice there Nimrod..."
My Bush Pushing ( sounds like an 70's ####y movie, lol) gun is a 38-55 in a Winnie 94
 
I understand what you mean. And even if it's not "up to modern standards", the 9.3X57 is still a very capable caliber...
 
I had a Husqvarna M46 9.3x57 in the 80's. I bought it in exc. condition from the once great used rack at Reliable in Vancouver. It came with boxes of Norma factory ammo, dies, Norma brass and bullets. I shot a couple of bucks and a bear with it; nothing too special, and all at short range. It worked fine, but as well as there being no way to mount a scope without alterations, the real problem was the unusual excessive length of pull. Way too long for me, and I generally find factory rifles to be a good fit. The lengthy LOP made quick shots in the bush difficult. I didn't want to mess with such a perfect all original rifle, so it went down the road, sold to a pure "gun collector" who didn't hunt or shoot..he didn't even own any ammo.

Then, as per requested, I've been able to reach some vintage HVA stuff.
My NOS supply have much dried upon the years and I never been a box collector - I have enough stuff around - , so most of it went to others.
