Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

That is weird! Unfortunately I can help with the issue but I’m sure some one here will be able to help out!
Yes its very strange .
The holes appear to be threaded as well perhaps some strange scope mount was once on it or it's just threaded for the plug that's now it in.

Got a pair of 1640 in 30-06.
They got a 1:12" twist. What's your best hunting ammo/bullets. I might reload, but I would rather buy.

Moose/Bear/Deer, 1 load.

I'll post pictures of the rifles soon.

My 1640 in 30-06 loves 150 grain Sako SP and Norma Whitetails, 165 gr Federal Fusion and Norma Whitetail. These consistently group under 1.5" at 100. It also does quite well with 180gr Sellier & Bellot SPs.

I've also shot 150gr and 180gr PPU, 165gr Remington corelokt. They did well enough groupwise, but not as well as the above.

As promised, that's my 1640 in 30-06. It's getting a Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10x42 illuminated mounted next week or so.
Sling is a sling bought on eBay, Hamish made. It was a pain to find the proper width. It seems to be of good quality and I loctited the rivet screws.

She's going on a bear hunt this spring!

I suck at taking pictures.

Should I switch my Weaver #35 and #25 for Leupold 89989?
The 1640 takes a Weaver #55 rear and #46 front. Not sure about the Loopy. Word of warning: the screws for the rear mount that come with it are about 0.003" too long. They catch on the bolt.

So you need to either get shorter screws, or trim the existing ones. Elsewise, you can also use a 0.003" steel or brass shim under the mount.

Sail carries them, like 9 bucks apiece. It looks like you're in QC, so shipping should be cheap.

They're cheap. I can get some.
Both my 1640 came with 25&35.
I checked with a flat and straight edge and everything's flat/inline without daylight.

Excellent. Good to know there's more options. You may want to check with the length of the tube on your scope. I have a Burris fullfield VI on mine, and the front ring is right on the edge of the bell housing, because the tube is so short.

Yes, I've had a bit of a challenge finding a long enough tube. It's a bit annoying the front ring is 3/8" or so past the edge... All the 2-7 and alike were too small.

The scope I bought has 5.93" mounting length from the specs.

I use these rings on all my Husqvarnas. I run Leupold Vari X IIc 1-4x and 3-9x40mm and a couple Vari X III 1.5-5x scopes on all of them with those rings. They work great. Good eye relief and hold zero just fine. Easier to get the scopes “square” in the rings with the quad lock rather than the old style weaver “scope crushers”, though I’ll admit, the older style look nice.

I used to use only Leupold rings and bases on my rifles, but now I use Weaver bases and rings on all my Husqvarnas (13x 1640s) and use Warne QR ringmounts on all my Brnos and CZs (16x Brnos/CZ).

Thanks! That could have been an option and still is. I'll see what our sponsor Dante suggests; I did buy the scope there and they'll install it.
I did plan on getting a quality recoil pad fitted too as well as a shorter length of pull to fit me.
I have no plan on selling it.

My 1640 came with some extension rings. I don't know, I didn't like them.

I suggest pachmyer, I just had one installed on my m98 3006 Parker hale and it’s superb. I was skeptical about paying a smith to do it and was going to do myself. Pay the money haha

How do you guys like the triggers on your 1640? I had one, loved the rifle itself and the action. ####tt awful trigger made me sell it. Bought a rifle similar to a 1900 and I really like it.

Depend on the rifle, I find my 30-06 to be good enough, but a friend 308 is quite stiff!
I guess you can drop in an after market trigger kit?!?
