I just received this shotgun from Simpson's.

They did not list model number, it turned out to be a model 100, which has a doll's head barrel extension. It is in extremely good condition, serial number places it as a 1910 vintage. The only problem is some pitting just in front of chambers.

I cleaned working parts with some spray brake cleaner to cut old dried lubes and dirt, relubed, reassembled and am very pleased. It locks up tight as a bank vault, top lever just to the right of center. There is a hint of sideplay when action is open but very minor.

Now to get a chance to try her!

Jkingrph, what are you planning to shoot it with? Virtually all the old Husqvarna's have 2 1/2 inch chambers. Polywad makes the Vintagers line of low pressure shells in 16 gauge (which we can't get up here :( ) and GameBore makes a similar load (which we can get :D ). Perhaps you load your own?

Old Husqvarna doubles can be good upland guns but nothing loosens them up faster than shooting modern loads through them. Take care!

I am planning on getting some Polywads, probably picking up a few cases the next time we go to Macon, Ga. They are located just outside of Macon, where the wife hails from.

As far as use, mostly fun, clay birds. I rarely hunt any more, just like guns, and wanted a classic looking hammer gun and this one fit the bill nicely. It has modest engraving, fairly plain stock, checkering had a couple of small dents, but a few minutes with a little riffler file freshened that up nicely. I was very surprised and pleased to find one in this condition at this price.

Nice acquisition, you're fortunate to find one in such good condition. I think the hammered dubbelbossas are my favourite Huskys.

I have a model 52 that I have just test fired a few times.. It is mechanically excellent with vg bores and probably my best Husqvarna to date. I cut down 2.75 in AA hulls, and rolled up 6000 psi loads that patterned well. Looking forward to getting it into the field this fall.
