I borrowed a friends shotgun and did this to it. Think he will be mad?

No worries fellow gunnutz! I am alive and well! We went to starbucks and I took the case in with me right up to the table my buddy and his wife were sitting at. He took one look at the trombone case, knowing I do not play trombone he smiled a little nervously. I sat down and he asked "there is no way the shotgun is in that case?" I laughed and said "of course not it is a trombone". I then went on to describe all the cool things I did to the "trombone" camo etc. We had our coffee's and went out to his truck to actually open up the case and take a look at the gun.

He was pretty angry about the chop and paint.... only because he said "now I can't use it because I don't want to get a scratch on it!" His wife was really blown away by how cool it was too. So overall it was a total success. He is really happy with it and liked the design and texture of the paint.

Previous to this and part of the reason for me doing this gun up for him was that he had heard that I was looking for a bench to turn into a really nice reloading/work bench and gave me a really sturdy super nice office table for that purpose. He has turned a few of them into really nice shop work benches and challenged me to make a really cool bench. Well after seeing the gun he told me that my bench better be up to par with the gun in a joking kind of way. Well I am going to start in on the bench in the next few days and I have some pretty good ideas for that project so I will probably be posting them on here as well.

Oh I should say I did end up putting the bead back on. As well some of the comments on here were awesome and really made me laugh. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

Just read the outcome, and that's awesome. More friends around like you would be good!

It's not hard to do a good job of replicating reporter style articles, just toss in some facts and names! Paragraph readily, and mix in statements through quotes. :p

Your post was awesome! At first I was thinking "what are the odds of another guy with a trombone case in a cafe". Ha ha awesome.
 
Spenom...Now don't go loaning anything to your friend because there may some payback looming, and he may not do such a good job. Of course, a supercharged riding lawnmower night be cool too.

Good Show. Maybe a tutorial on how you did everything with pics is in order. I have a few I would "spenom up" if I had a guide.

it would be a boring tutorial to be honest. 1 Sand the gun with light grit sand paper. 2 make sure it is clean and primer the gun. 3 once dry sand lightly and paint primary color. 4 let dry sand lightly and wrap in net and paint second color. 5 buy a trombone case and some fabric and mash the two together the best you can.
