I borrowed a friends shotgun and did this to it. Think he will be mad?

I didn't know it was legal to take a saw to chop your shotgun down. Am I wrong?

Definition of a Restricted Firearm

According to the Criminal Code, a restricted firearm is:

* a semi-automatic, centre-fire rifle or shotgun with a barrel length less than 470 mm (18.5 inches) that is not prohibited;
* a rifle or shotgun that can fire when its overall length is reduced by folding, telescoping or some other means to less than 660 mm (26 inches);

The Criminal Code states that a prohibited firearm is:

* a rifle or shotgun that has been altered to make it less than 660 mm (26 inches) in overall length;
* a rifle or shotgun that has been altered to make the barrel length less than 457 mm (18 inches) where the overall firearm length is 660 mm (26 inches) or more;

Whats the overall length on this now? Thinking about doing something similar, but pistol grip only. (I want one completly impractical gun with no useful purpose)

Head for the hills or have a NIB replacement to return to him.....I would think.

You can't NIB your first gun given to you by your brother.

I would have been pissed even though I think you did a good job on it. Good thing your friend likes it. I guess now he has his first gun given to him by his brother and pimped by his buddy.

just going to bump this one for myself because I just bought a cooey and plan on doing the project again but pistol gripping it for hiking. Probably more of a noise maker than anything but I would rather scare away any threats anyway.

I gat a box full of ole ####ter 12g singles I'll send yer way......can we be friends?? LOL

PS No worries as i don't lend out heirlooms......

If it were my shotgun, we wouldn't be friends anymore. Glad he liked it though and you a good job. Just wouldn't want it done to mine.
