Remington was the biggest M1911 manufacturer during WWII, so they would know how to make a good 1911 pistol.

You are confusing Remington Arms with Remington Rand (the latter being the manufacturer of WWII era 1911's). Two different companies.

Seriously though, I was glad to be able to get the Remington and if it goes goofy I'm sure I can remedy that!

Haven't fired it yet, maybe this week...

Nice and reasonably tight, the shooting will show what it's made of. I'm pretty sure it might shoot better than I can hold offhand...

Anyone else find it odd that none of the online stores offering the R1 seem to be advertising this promo? It's a great deal,you'd think they'd use it for advertising.

When i spoke to Dave from Epps , i was not aware of the promotion, myself have seeing the rebate form on Cabelas site, took a look at it and register my buy, it is until August 31 so less than a week to have it... JP.
