I bought a Norinco JW-15A Compact

I also have the compact jw-15a and I have taken half a dozen grouse with it. Mine has an issue with unfired rounds getting stuck in the chamber. You have to fire the round before it will eject.

Never had that problem with any of the JW 15 variations( BRNO knockoffs) ,they all worked flawlessly, albeit not as finely finished.( these are shooters, not collectors)Before I bought any Norinco I googled the reviews and saw what other had to say.The JW103 Bushranger (223) and JW14( semi) didn't seem to get good reviews .I looked at the JW21 lever action but didn't buy it.Thats the thing about Norinco, once they sell out a run,you seldom see them restocked.Don't know why

I bought a used jw15 13" off the EE for cheap ($120?) 2-3yrs ago. Previous owner cleaned up the trigger assembly. I added a Simmons fixed 4x 22mag scope and figured I'd shoot it for a while then sell it. It's been such a great handy "bush gun" (and accurate) that I'm keeping it for a little longer......

I think it's the 'thing to do' to jump all over Norinco...I recall way back when you could get brand new Mosin Nagants at gun shows for $75 ....couldn't give them away, they were clunky and ugly and nobody wanted to be seen with one....now everybody wants one( they're still clunky and ugly but ammunition is cheap and they go bang when you pull the trigger) public opinion is very fickle ....

I bought a custom JW15A Compact from a CGN'er. Custom bolt, polished parts, glass - bedded. The thing is a little tack driver.

Hmmm, Ukrainians are not a race, AFAIk. An uncool statement, bigoted if you want, xenophobic, yes, but racist, no.

Sorry, but bigot means that the person is intolerant of people who hold a different opinion. As usual in todays society, it is being thrown around without people knowing how to use it. Same with xenophobic.

The person was generalizing, funny or not but wasnt being a racist or bigot or xenophobe.

It could probably be viewed as xenophobic. Doesn't matter, though.

If there was angry undertones then yes for sure.

Back on track. I have been using a norinco hp9 now for a few years and has never given me trouble. I am also getting a jw20 soon and hope it is trouble free as well lol

I had an Em-322 and it was superb. I have a Norc muzzleloader built on a Mauser 98 action and it is pretty good, and I have a little side by each 12 ga. with 12" barrels and I've had 0 issues with any of them.

Seems like every time some one says they're having trouble with a norinco the feed back about norinco quality becomes the majority. If you enjoy taking guns apart and fitting polishing etc the Norcs are guaranteed to give you that almost every time. Sometime however it's just a good cleaning they need.
Personally this is the first time I've heard about a screw that's too tight. Again every maker makes guns that have issues. The Norcs however also are an incredible value for those that don't mind a challenge.
Did the OP Get it figured out?

I really wanted to pick one up from bullseye a few weeks ago when I saw them on their sight while buying ammo, now they are sold out :(. Any idea who has one of these in stock? For $200 why the heck not!

T&T Arms is listing them on their website. That's where I got mine. No problems whatsoever with the gun and Tony is a great guy to deal with. I currently own two other Norcs and sold a CZ75 clone a while back. All have been trouble free and accurate. But this Norc controversy is as old as the hills. Bottom line: most of them are good but there are some lemons. Not that much different than most other manufacturers really.

FWIW, the 25-round "CZ-512" mag has been a (for now) total feeding-disappointment for me in the JW-15A compact.

IMOHO, I would rather purchase $200.00 in ammunition for my Eatonia, 10/22, & CZ 452 than buy a Norinco.

I had a jw15 with the 24" barrel. It was pretty good. Bolt travel wasnt Tikka level smooth but it functioned 100% and had excellent accuracy. I would buy another if I saw one. One little issue was an occasional Fail To Feed when I used some aftermarket CZ copy plastic 10 shot mags but that was only with 1 or 2 types of ammo. The oem 5 shot mag worked great. It was a solid gun. Wood stocked too.
