I broke it, and now I'm sad

You're a complete idiot. Stop posting.

Oh wait...I see he's slunk off in shame. And all before we got to 100 posts.

Someone needs to tell Lazzeroni.

The Lazorni uses a 308 barrel and bullet. 2.82 Warbird is a name. If my name is Smith, that does not mean I am a goldsmith, silvermith or blacksmith. And 2.84 is a name that has nothing to do with the caliber of bullet/or barrel. it is just a name.

22 Hornet
218 Bee
221 Fireball
222 Remington
223 Rem
222 Rem mag
22 PPC
219 Zipper
225 Winchester 22-250
220 Swift

They all shoot 224 bullets. The name often has nothing to do with the actual bullet/barrel caliber.

I get the feeling Silver Hammer (AKA Sunray) already understands this and is just pulling our chain. No one who has taken the license course could be that ignorant of the basics.

I know, just having fun.

The idiot part was his repeated assertion that 7.62x51 and 308 use different diameter bullets which is completely wrong.

And Lazzeroni was a Canadian car-stereo manufacturer who decided to get into rifles. Not sure exactly what to make of that.

7.62 is not the same diameter as .308 ... you cant run 7.62x51 in .308 ... its .311 or .312. You will run into pressure issues

its been awhile ... i may HAVE been confused ... regardless ....I couldnt remeber which was not interchangeable ...My numbers may have been off ... but the comment was that " they are the same " and they are not

.308 is 7.82mm

Do you even know what .308 and 7.62 means ? ... Let me inform you, Its inches and Millimeters, figure it out ... Unreal...The bullets .... are not the same diameter...why dont you go and put .308 win in a 7.62x51 chamber ... pm me when you've found your face

.308 inches is not 7.62 mm ... thats all ive ever gone on lol

^ This is just the stuff he hasn't deleted...

Where did he go???

Probably back at the reloading bench. There was an article recently on paper-patched bullets; he's paper-patching some .308 slugs to get them up to 7.82 so he can load them in x39 cases. Then, by paper-patching the entire loaded cartridge, he can shoot it in a .30-06 that's had the bore reamed to .311, with just a wee bit of rifling left over...the wildcat is called the .308/7.62/x39/.311/7.82-.30-06WTF Magnum...:)

It bothers me every time I see "7.82 Warbird". A buddy bought a PGW rifle chambered in 7.82 Warbird, incredible long range cartridge and rifle, but that name... wtf were they thinking?

Just the way the bore is measured. Across the grooves vs opposed across the lands.

I know what it is. and of course .308" actually does = 7.82mm, and NOT 7.62. :)
But the universal metric numbering convention signifying 30 cal is 7.62mm, and using 7.82mm confuses the crap out of people as you can see from the comments.
