I broke my Mossberg Tactical Cleaning it!

I do know I can use brake kleen, and an aircompressor to blow it out. I wanted to learn how to take this one all apart and do it rite. It sure didn't help that I had drank one too many before attempting this! lol. That is prolly why it's now broke. I'll call Mossberg for ####s and giggles and see what they say. I doubt they will replace it, but either way I'll get one.

I'm actually not sure if brake kleen with hurt plastic or not, but it may very well dull the finish of the plastic. A chance I don't want to take.

Well I called the gun store where I bought the rifle. They were absolutly NO help. Just told me to take it to a gun smith. They were totally useless and I wasn't impressed.

So I googled around the net trying to find the part to NO avail..... BUT, I then decieded to get the owners manual out and called Mossberg. I had to wait and hung up. I decieded to give them an email.

Subject: Bolt Recoil Spring

Hello. I recently purchased the Mossberg Tactical .22. I had fired roughly 1000rds and went to take it all apart to clean it. When I was reassembling the bolt into the receiver, I accidently broke the Bolt Recoil Spring. I would like to know if you can tell me how much they are, and do you sell them or where I can I go buy one. The store I bought the rifle from can't seem to help me out. I live in Sackville, New Brunswick Canada, Postal Code E4L 2J5. Thank you.

How cool is that?? They are going to send me out a new one as well as the other member on here who as well broke his and contacted them. Now that is CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked up on the second ring for me... then sent an email 2hours later confirming the spring was shipped. Overnight UPS.

Wheeler, I'm glad everything worked itself out in the end. Speaks alot about their customer service when they just ask where to send the part!! Very cool.
Was at P&D today and handled a Mossy Tac. for a bit. All I have to say is that there is a reason I ws there picking up a Ruger!! I'm not bashing anyones choice of firearms but, even for a starter rifle for my kids, I'll either go Ruger or something that has some substance to it. Like a good, old fashioned WOOD and BLUED STEEL Cooey. Very Canadian.

Yeah I bought my Ruger 10/22 from P&D. I'll have pics of that up soon all finished up. I've said it many times and will again though... haha. This rifle is GREAT if you are looking for a lightweight COOL looking gun. Their service is awesome yes.

I do understand why you are getting a Ruger, as I love mine, but this little Mossberg is one cool unit. All boils down to personal preference though, AND how many do you want to own!!!!

After the email he sent saying they'd send one, I never heard back. So I sent the guy another email stating I wanted to know if it was sent or do I have to source another one out some where.

He replied today it must have got lost in shipping and requested my full address and serial # of the gun again, and said he would ship one out right away.......

We'll see if he is good for his word... Maybe I'll get lucky and get 2 springs in the mail. hahaha

They never answered my emails....

Well here we are the evening of Dec 29th.. still no spring in the mail. I emailed Mossberg back again asking if they can confirm sending the spring out. Either way I'll be calling Western Gun Parts tomorrow and see if they have any.

I've tried looking online and am having a hard time finding one... IF WGP doesn't have one I'm sure Milarms in Edmonton must have one or be able to get one.

Anyone else know who I can call to order one??

stop emailing and call them. free isn't that bad a deal.

Well I called Mossberg "Canada" and he is sending me two springs with a tracking number. This morning I recieved a reply from "Santa" and he said he has sent me out two already, but it will take 2-3weeks for delivery ( which has already passed ) but he wanted my address again and he will send one out fed ex and give me a tracking number. So IF I ever get lucky I'll end up with 5.

I explained my situation the guy I called yesterday, and he asked for a copy of my emails with Santa. So I did forward them to him. Maybe I recieved this email due to them talking???

The guy I talked to on the phone told me that the parts actually come from Brazil, and Mossberg doesn't allow parts all over. Like Western Gun Parts has NO parts for a plinkster or Tactical .22.

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted on this. It really sucks having a brand new gun with a brand new red dot just sitting there in 100pieces! lol

2 minutes after posting this... I received an email back with a tracking number!!!!!!!!
