I posted some information about my shotguns initial performance in another thread - http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1335068-Anyone-bought-a-BR-99-yet
Shot the BR99 two weeks ago and it has been sitting in the case since. Pulled it out tonight and heard a strange rattle. Something was moving around in the receiver. While turning the shotgun over to examine it a small piece of metal dropped out of the magazine well.
I did a function test and everything seemed to be working. Stripped the shotgun down and I couldn't see anything obvious. The colour and type of metal indicated that it was out of the trigger assembly. I finally spotted where it came from. The disconnector had a tail on it which had broken off just behind the disconnector spring. The tail would have gone over the safety. I Function tested the trigger and everything seems to be working properly. There is very little information online specific to this shotguns trigger assembly and I can't see what function this tail would perform. Since the portion of the disconnector that engages the hammer is still intact and the disconnector spring is in place everything is working.
I'll post some photos soon. Off to the local gun store tomorrow to see if I can order a new one and maybe compare my shotgun to another one to see if I can figure out if the disconnector tail had a purpose.
