No, I didn't forget where any of the parts go, they warned me about that during the CFSC. After removing the bolt, bolt carrier, recoil spring, and the gas system, I was able to remove the trigger assembly and magazine from the receiver by pushing in that button on the back of the trigger assembly. Then I removed the receiver and barrel from the stock and removed the bayonet and associated spring system from the end of the barrel.
I've since soaked the parts in hot water, run hot water through the barrel and the gas system, dried everything, and reattached the bayonet to the end of the barrel. I've also been able to put the receiver and barrel assembly back into the stock; however, it's the next step which is giving me trouble.
I've read that I'm supposed to put the magazine in and then the trigger assembly. It seems simply enough and it fits in, but not quite. It's not snug like it was before. That button thing that you're supposed to push with a punch on the back of the trigger assembly isn't holding the trigger assembly, I can't get it to go all the way in. I don't know what to do.
Please help.
