Depends on your standards... IMHO I'd spend the little bit extra... it's not as far a stretch like if you wanted a non-restricted bullpup and you were comparing a Norc Type 97 @ around $900 to a $3000 Tavor.
 
To be honest, you're going to be the only one that will know the difference between the different 'tiers' of AR15.

The main reason I would recommend getting an American made AR15 would be to enter the US without much hassle as foreign made guns aren't permitted. Other then the poor paint they use the aluminum parts, I haven't heard of any real problems with the norcs.
 
That's right, spend your $$ on a Chinese norc when you can support gun businesses in North America instead. :rolleyes:
 
Unless you are MIL/LE no one "NEEDS" an AR15. And if you are MIL/LE it is provided for you.

Buy something made in Canada. You'll pay more but you won't be exporting jobs and devaluing the currency while you figure out the difference between a NEED (food, shelter etc.) and a WANT (toys like AR15s).

I have seen Alberta Tactical goods and they are primo.

Is this for real? Foreign made assault type weapons are not allowed in the US for SALE in the US but I find it hard to believe that there would be a big hassle if you were going to a competition. And if you were not going to a competition then can you get an ATT for "general shooting at a range or safe open space to be determined" in the US?

There is an executive order on importation ban of non-sporting rifle - aka the 89 importation ban.

All foreign made rifles imported cannot have more than 2 evil features: Flashhidder, pistol grip, bayonet lug, foldable/collapsible stock or detachable magazine.

What you would like to believe may not be aligned with how the US DOS interprets the executive order.

And that would apply to temporary import for sporting events of a pre-owned firearm? That is pretty restrictive. I know, the DOS is not always logical.
