I drank the Kool-Aid - I joined the Cult - CAA MCK Roni

I picked up the M&P 2.0 version back in the spring. Makes for a fun range toy.

Does anyone know if these work with the threaded barrel Gen 3 Glock 19?

I had to remove the high front and rear sights of my G19 with threaded barrel, because the front sight was dragging against the top of the Roni body. I will install normal height sights. However, the barrel threaded muzzle seems to work fine without any binding.

Note that I bought my Roni used. I am not sure if the previous owner did any reaming of the muzzle bore of the Roni, to make clearance for the threaded barrel extension.

Hey easyrider604,

Are your Ronis dedicated kits for the 17/22 and the 19/23 or are they the same kit which fit both? I know CAA sells kit for each gun separately. So wondering if the 17 kit works properly with a 19.

After looking at your pic, I decided to try putting my 19 into the 17/22 chassis and it works perfectly, except the front locking catch doesn’t engage. The rear lock is more than secure.

They are dedicated 17 and 19 kits. But let me try switching up the pistols and chassis and see what happens. Will report back later today or tomorrow.

Yeah, please let me know. I have the exact same generation model as yours except in black for my G22. My 19 locks in nice and snug but I haven’t tried shooting it so no idea! Thanks!

Ok, the G19 fits into the Roni 17 stock, but not vice-versa. A Glock 17 slide is too long to fit in a Roni 19.

The G19 pistol frame locks tightly onto the G17 Roni, via the cross-bolt on the Roni that locks onto the pistol’s rail slot. However, the G17s Roni’s muzzle piece, that fits over the G17 pistol’s slide, may be too short for the G19 pistol slide. The G19 pistol fits in the Roni 17, just as tight as a Glock 17.

Haven’t shot it yet so can’t comment on accuracy/function.

i go off shift in a couple hours so i will finally get a chance to get out and try my new chassis system, but im already looking at replacing it with the Roni with the vertical front end rather than the potato front end the one i have has got.
im just more or a vertical front grip kinda fella!

/\ me too! I held off buying the new style front grip. Patience is a virtue.

Still Alive, I think the front rail locking system is robust enough, and the RONI chassis itself is rigid enough, to prevent any flexing that will allow projectiles from striking the Roni’s muzzle piece.

I think having the muzzle piece “engage” the front of the slide is just for extra insurance against the chassis flexing during the firing and recoil sequence

I can identify with that!

In my research, I found a few potential issues with the older style RONI with the vertical grip. Not necessarily deal breakers, but just things to consider: 1) The slide release is not directly accessible and uses a plastic tab to operate it - I read some reports that this is not 100% reliable. 2) There is a separate plastic piece you need to install onto the pistol slide prior to inserting it into the chassis and it is easy to misplace.

If you are interested in other options, I can report that the KPOS Scout that arrived from Israel in yesterday's mail seems very well built. I like the aluminum upper frame and rail. The only part that is a little disappointing so far is the front grip that wiggles slightly at the hinge point.

Has anyone had luck using the new CAA MCK on a glock 19 threaded barrel with suppressor sights? Is there room to do some file work to make it work?

I found the stock mag release on my G19 difficult to use quickly, had to use my left hand or really switch my right hand grip when in the Roni. Can't do the flip the grip like you can when the pistol is used on its own. I finally got an extended mag release to 3D print and function properly. Problem gone.

Can someone explain how the barrel works? Is it just a shroud or is there an actual barrel that somehow mates up to the muzzle of the pistol? These things have always intrigued me but I could never figure out how they work exactly.

I had to remove the threaded protector, cut down the front sight (too cheap to buy a replacement and the special tool), and replaced the rear sight with a stock low one in order to get it to run without scraping up the inside of the Roni.
