Found this little tidbit of Vince wisdom in the jumping out from fault lines thread.

How refreshing. At the CGN Forum, there are 8 people who consistently and relentlessly hammer me. Then again, all they ever do is moan.

Anyway If there is no ground breaking changes I am done with this topic as it appears that trying to discus it in a adult manor is pointless. I recommend that we all politely make are views know to Sean. If at the meeting Sean can stand up and say there are ### active Shotgun competitors in Canada and here is the binder full of e-mails objecting to these proposals it may make some of the non shotgun active regions think before voting.

At the GV the ONLY judge is VP which is as I said fine as it is his own personal site.

GV while VPs personal site is also the defacto OFFICIAL site of an international body (IPSC) that makes it totally different and patently a wrong approach.

Altruism is a quality so rare that it is almost impossible to find in modern societies. It is never found in politicians (a pejorative) or in any high ranking elected or appointed officials. I have an organic distrust of those who seek official positions from which they may dictate the behavior of all within their bailiwick. I do not readily believe anything they say/write and always look for the self serving, hidden or real meaning. Although actions do speak louder than words, one should always view their actions with a healthy amount of skepticism.

Sorry but there is no IPSC List for them to check on. when your SC pays your membership fee to IPSC Canada he just says how many and how much he is sending. when our RD pays fees to IPSC again is is just how many and how much is being sent. this is why many of the smaller regions can get a vote because they report the minimum of 100, pay the fee and get a vote.

So obviously he reads this forum......maybe he would be so kind as to point himself out......Hey Vince...:wave:

Probably won't though.....little fish in a big pond syndrome.

I think John is right, we should lobby our Regional Director, for what we want....hopefully he can talk some sense into other Regions, but I also think, something has to be done about the Moderation of the Global Village, if it is purporting to be the "Official" site of IPSC. There is just no room for an autocratic system (regarding the GV moderation) to be in place of a World Organization.....ones persons views on a specific subject, should not be the driving force of censorship, or promotion.....it is truly undemocratic!

Actually...you should lobby your Section Coordinator (or any member of the BOD) and they will deal with the Regional Director on behalf of the Ontario members.

If you contact Sean directly...he'll point you to Rachel...

Well then.....thanks for pointing that out.....

So a Regional Director isn't bound to IPSC section members.....as far as that goes, how does one become a Regional Director?....just out of General interest

And as far as that goes......GV is linked on the IPSC Canada Website......so who would I talk to about that?

As members we elect a board for our section.

The Board elects a Section Coordinator.

The Section Coordinator is then a member of the National Executive Council.

The NEC elect a Regional Director.
