Never laughed so hard. My wife is giving me that look again followed by " are you on that nut website again "![]()
I have used / had a lot of pistols over the years, HK's, Sigs, Browning, Springfield, Glocks, Colt, Beretta etc etc. I 've run some of them on courses, fielded some of them, carried some of them them on various duties and shot them for pleasure on the range.
To date my least favourite remains *GASP* the Glock. I think the biggest disappointment is that it DID NOT meet the hype. Maybe my expectations were too high from all the Kool-Aid and what not???
I found the glock to be the least comfortable with perhaps the worst factory sights I have ever seen (except maybe the S&W 469). The trigger was nothing special either. Sure it worked but so do all the other handguns and believe me they have seen a lot more use simply because they fit / feel so much better (to me at least). I have an XD that has seen over 17K rounds and remains oem. (BTW there are no recommendations from springfield to replace springs / parts every 5K like some other manufacturer).
To date the most comfortable gun I have shot was believe it or not a P99. While I have no desire to own one it is undoubtedly the most comfortable and the XD's a close second.
I find it funny how the Glock lovers always SEEM to refuse to admit there may actually be better out there ( Was I supposed to get a "promote a Glock" contract to sign when I purchased one? Maybe the dealer forgot to include it?) meanwhile the detractors always SEEM to point out personal experience from trying other makes/ modles and finding *ANOTHER GASP* there are other good guns out there.
Now things are not always as they seem and I am willing to conceede to that but geez.. if you love your glock that's fine but FFS it does not mean we all have to love glock!!!!
...... The point is, people who often ##### about comfort of a firearm are using it as a crutch for poor skill set. There is nothing uncomfortable about a Glock. The feel or grip angle may be (god forbid!) different than what a new or novice shooter is used to, but it is more than comfortable and ergonomic. the grip dimensions on standard size Glocks is no more and often less than other popular pistols.
There are some that come close. If you compare all the ups to the downs between brands, Glock is a clear winner....
The Steyr is a wannabe Glock, like the XD, M&P, SIGMA, Caracal, Kahr Arms, Walther P99, taurus 24/7, Ruger SR9, Beretta BU9 to name the more popular attempts....
...You clearly haven't mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship...
... Again, another Glock wannabe gun with piss poor quality and design...
...The point is, people who often ##### about comfort of a firearm are using it as a crutch for poor skill set....
... is exactly the evidence needed to keep down syndrome people out of the work force..
The Steyr is a wannabe Glock, like the XD, M&P, SIGMA, Caracal, Kahr Arms, Walther P99, taurus 24/7, Ruger SR9, Beretta BU9 to name the more popular attempts. The triangle sights and the excessive amount of manual safeties are two of the worst features.
TDC
Nothing uncomfortable about a glock.. according to who? You? Wow all the glove factories in the world save one can close down now that TDC has announced all hands are the same dimension and have the same biometrics. What a waste of time all these years making different size gloves....
I've already lowered my standards by engaging in this crap but please ...why don't you enlighten us as to your awesomeness? Tell us all about your real world experince and super training that made you such a handgun expert. Afterall I'm just using this as "a crutch" for my poor skill set. I'd like to participate in the same training you have had so I too can dismiss all other makes and models as being substandard to the Glock. What makes you so amazing? Please share....
I honestly don't know what your issue is.. anyone who doesn't like Glock is not a real or knowledgeable pistol shooter??? Get over it FFS!! What are you like 12 or something??? You're trying way too hard to make it sound like you know what your talking about and let's face it.. we all know it never really works out well for you.
BTW nice work on editing my post.. it's not the labelling of disabled it's this this comment that I find repulsive...
You might as well throw H&K's entire new line in there as well. Not to mention every other polymer framed pistol made since the introduction of the Glock. Give your head a shake.

HK didn't copy Glock. In fact HK had the first polymer pistol the VP70. Their USP line is a polymer frame but that's where the similarities end. Exposed hammer, da/sa, manual safeties/decockers, and their ambi mag release are clearly their own. The others I've listed have several if not all of the same aesthetic features and control features of a Glock. Trigger mounted passive safety is a Glock trait, yet the XD, M&P, SR9, Steyr M9 all have them as well. Is it a good idea? Yeah, I think so. Was it an original idea from anyone other than Glock? NO! The squarish slide styling, the internals, the low profile slide release, even the take down lever on some is near identical. The Caracal and Steyr M9 were developed by former Glock engineers. I'm sure their inspiration came from their own ideas right?
TDC
No one said glocks don't shoot well, nor did I say I don't shoot a glock well... what I said was that I find it one of the least comfortable to handle; an opinion I am entitled too (an opinion which according to TDC and his wide sweeping assumptions means I have poor marksmanship, don't understand the fundamentals, need professional training blah blah blah) I don't judge someone's ability as a pistol shooter or marksman based on their choice of firearm... only after seeing them shoot can I say yeah he's got it or no he needs more work......... but then it seems the only way some people can make themselves feel superior is perhaps by trying to put others down. A jr. high school tactic at best .....
TDC made the assumption that I shoot sh*tty with a Glock therefore that's why I don't like them.
So TDC to get back to the questions in my last post.... where did you get all this training that makes you such a pistol expert.. what professional coaching did you get / real world experience did you amass that allows you to dismiss all other makes and regard all shooters who do not use a Glock as patheitc and making excuses or using their dislike for a Glock as a crutch? I can post another bunch of your quotes if you need reminding.....
Really... the silence on this speaks volumes.
... When someone starts posting "fact" as opposed to opinion that's when I get involved...

I shoot just fine with my Glock G19. I just find shooting my Steyr M9-A1 to be more enjoyable......
