I hate that word “Leupy”

Leupy!

Danka schoen Herr koalorka!:D :D :D

On the expensive issue, I have to agree they are a little pricey, but worth every penny, look at the prices of Bushnell 4200's these days!

So I'm talking to a rep for a wholesaler who is Lee-o-pold this and that and another who throws around Lew-pold.
Which is right?
God I hope it's not Lee-o-pold.

Its pronounced Lewp - old. P sound is attached to the first syllable, last syllable is "old", but you let a little of the "p" sound bleed into it. Rhymes with hold, mold, etc...

Not Lee-uh-pold, Not Lee-o-pold, Not Lew-pold

If someone calls it any of the above, who cares? Same goes for "Leupy." I take it as a sign of affection.

Leupolds are at the top of the affordable scopes that offer superior performance that are presently available in North America.

Leupold prices in Canada seem to be artifically elevated. Given the strong Canadian dollar & the retail prices the exact same scope is available for in the US...the exchange rate, paperwork costs, import duties, etc...still doesn't account for the $200-$500 dollar differences I've seen on many Leupold models.

Either the main distributor for Canada is gouging, forcing dealers to pass on the cost to consumers, or they're all gouging.

Either way, in the cost benefit analysis in terms of cost vs. performance and factoring in their superior customer service and warranty Leupold is the way to go.

The high end European glass like the S&B, Zeiss etc...are excellent optics, but for the average user, they offer additional performance that the average user isn't capable of taking advantage of, or simply cannot afford. That's where Leupold comes in.

Despite my cringing when I hear "shotty", "Remmy", "puter" or e-mail "addy", I laugh when I hear "Lee-o-pold" as I always think of that Bugs Bunny cartoon from many years ago when Bugs dressed up as a conductor and messed up the opera singer. As he was walking in, everyone was in awe and whispering, "Leopold"...."Leopold". Anyone else think of this from a ruptured childhood? It still cracks me up.:D

Anyway, gotta go install my new Bushy!!!!!

I think you mean Feinwerkbau: fine - verk - bow (bow as in 'bow' to your opponent, not I shoot the long'bow'):p
