I have a proposition

Where are ya buddy, check out post 111 and get back to me. Working seriously on putting this together.

Here I are, have been working. I wasn't gonna do anything other than part time this year, but a buddy and fello CGN needed me to haul snow for a week. Now he wants me to go full time this summer. I get to drive his Peterbilt with a bang shift 6 speed Allison automatic trans, (has been a dream of mine for yrs), so I just can't say no to that! Sorry, but I will have to bow out on the Whitehorse trip. It's a real shame to miss out on that. Never been up that way before. I'm getting old and hope to see the country before I am no longer! Maybe you'll do another one next yr with a whole new batch of guns? Good luck, please keep us posted as to how things are going.

here's a thought - maybe sell some redundant rifles and you'll be able to go shooting. Might even have time to wipe yer own ass too :)

Define REDUNDANT.

Redundant = anything you don't have the time or desire to shoot.

I'm not a collector, so have no interest in having 100's of rifles that I will never use, and have 3 dozen just like it that do the same thing...

I chose to put money into firearms as an investment, found them to be much better investments than either the investment market or banks. The practical use of firearms is just one of many reasons to own them, and I respect those who do own them for this purpose alone.

So let them be an investment then, and not try to ram a bunch of loads down 50 rifles in 2 weeks...:p

If I were keeping rifles as an investment, the last thing I would do is have strangers handling and extensively shooting them.

Why so negative, Blargon? I thought this forum was about gunnuts sharing advice and experiences on gun related topics. My offer is just a more tangible way of sharing with those who have the time and a love of shooting. No one is being pressured or coersed into anything here. I cannot see why you find this offer somehow offensive.
I have had a great and very positive response from many who WOULD like to do this and 10 times as many of those who would love to, but cannot due to other commitments.
Like I said earlier I respect the gun owner who has only the firearms he requires to pursue hunting interests or specific target interests, I would ask only that you afford me the same respect as a collector, shooter, hobby gunsmith, hunter and investor.
I realize not all gun owners are gun enthusiasts, and this whole scenario may seem ludicrous to those people, but to a true, dyed in the wool gunnut this isn't a chore it's an opportunity.

Please feel free to follow along with this thread or not, as you please, but the malicious jabs aren't warranted, just because you don't understand the mindset.

Doesn't matter to me either way, just don't see the need to rush to find loads for 50 rifles in 2 weeks, when 3/4 of them will likely never be used...

I'd be more inclined to do 1 or 2 per day, and have more time to enjoy the scenery. You'd still have good loads for a dozen or two rifles that you would use the most.

How many of those old levers will ever get hunted, realistically? Especially when they are all iron sights, and you are facing old age....:p

I really don't understand why anyone would be negative about this post. I can not imagine anything more fun than to help a fellow shooter work up loads and sight in rifles on a 500 yd range in the Yukon. If I could afford the trip I'd be there.

Well c-fbmi you explained to Mr. Blargon quite tactfully and with diplomacy. Maybe he must be told a different way.

I don't find it offensive, just silly. You don't want to sight your own rifles in, as you've already stated it's too much work, so toss out a ferarri and a plane ride and hope someone will do it for you.

You are the one who is jumping on anyone that thinks this is more work than a holiday...;)

wow 24 pages and a wicked offer and he still get's crap from others ... gotta love CGN lately ... NOT!

Not wound-up at all, however you offer no support or advice for the OP's cause/offer. There are two sides to the coin.........positive/negative. Take your pick.

I don't feel I have "jumped on" anyone, I thought I was being very patient and diplomatic.
Let's just say we view this offer/job from opposing perspectives and agree to disagree.
