Hello fellow shooters and hunters! I recently found this rifle, and thought it was a gorgeous design!

I know of Anschutz through rimfire rifles and olympic type platforms. I felt if they put the same effort into their hunting rifle line, they should shoot awesome as well as look good!

Do any of you gunnutz have any experience with the centerfire lines of Anschutz rifles?

I can hardly wait to give it a try! Hope you like the photos!

That's a gorgeous looking rifle. I've been debating picking up an older Sako L61R in 30-06, this will have me looking around a bit more. There's some very nice older/classic rifles out there.

Enjoy!

Nice rifles. Got 1782 9.3x62 I really like it fit & finish is superb.👌

I have a 1416 22, and I have to say I think it is the most well built gun in my safe. Have flirted with the idea of a centre fire for a long time. That is a beautiful rifle you have.

I’ve got an Anschutz 1574 n .308, built on a Krico action. I think it was 660 but can’t remember. I do remember how I got it though, a guy told me his power was going to get cut off if he didn’t have 300 bucks that day. Getting to be close to 25 years ago now. Shoots like a house on fire, action is slicker than oiled icecubes.

Europeans can make some fine firearms, for a market that doesn’t mind paying for them. Contrast that to rifles that you have to take home and finish building.

My experience besides the excellent Anschutz .22 rimfires is limited to the match 54 action - several .22 Hornets and a couple .222 Remington rifles. I've found them extremely well built, precise, accurate, and functionally perfect. I even like the style, although they are very German. They don't need tuning, tweaking, or aftermarket parts. They just work as intended and hit what they're aimed at. I haven't got around to trying the new larger bore centerfires yet, but your post has me curious.

Your 308 is based on the 600 model (700 for LA). I own one and Remington should have seen the smooth action. They could still be in business!!!

Wow 😮 beautiful rifle. 👍. I am a fan of Anschutz rifles, own an older match 54 rimfire. About the only negative IMO with many of their rifles though is that I believe the majority of them have pressed in barrels making barrel replacements difficult, the majority of gun smiths don’t want to touch one for that reason. Not just Anschutz though, many German/Austrian rifles use pressed in barrels also.

Thank you for the comments gentleman!
I will give a range report when I get the chance to get out.

As for the pressed barrel, this model is set up to work as a switch barrel system. 2 bolts out in the action tenon, and the barrel will slip out. Awesome idea! I am going to see how adjustable the trigger system is. They claim it is built the same as thier biathalon rifles.

I will have to see how it responds to adjustments.
