I like my nickel norconia .45 (it says norconia germany on the slide). It's very solid, well put together and nicely finished.

I joined the 1911 forum down in the states, and I find that despite americans being able to buy anything they want in the way of pistols, they think highly of the norc down there too.

What's all the fuss about?

Sorry, I'm a film photographer, and this post was just me taking a break from exams. I've got no time to get into the darkroom right now, but I intend to take some macros with my gf's new canon fd macro lens set when I get the chance.

Look for a thread with some black and white pics in a couple weeks.

I'm sure they shoot well... but I guess I don't like Norc 1911s for purist reasons. For such an American classic, it's blasphemy to have "Made in China" written on it. Amen? Get rid of the markings, get it tuned, change the grips, change the sights, and stamp on "Made in Canada" on it :). But it's good you enjoy it.

And the Norc's they are talking about in the US are ones made more than a decade ago (they can't import any more rifles or pistols from China). The finish quality of the ones we are getting now is better than the ones they have.

i think i figured it out!!
my first pistol (love at first sight) its not a 45 but thats ok, the 4000 plus rounds that came with it more than make up for it

well it was actually 4360 (2 cases minus 200) i know its a little over kill !!
but they came with the deal.
7.62 barrel & mag work perfect, 200 rounds so far

the 9x19 barrel & mag dont seem to want to feed properly, i get a jam about every 3rd shot, that being said i have only tried one type of ammo so far.
i am sure i can work it out. i have to order my ammo in, so after the crazy season is over i am going to order a #### load of different brands and figure out what it like to feed on
