I had a Gen II show up today in 300 BLK.
-The cerakoting is OK but thinner and rougher than a custom job.
-The stock feels dry and rough.
-It has a low bolt lift which is nice.
-The bolt won't close on an empty mag but if you push the follower down it'll close, however the lugs grind the follower when closing, so you should close the bolt first and then insert the empty mag.
-The empty mag takes a good shove to seat when the bolt is closed.
-The 3-position sliding safety is kinda lame, doesn't hit the detents well.
-It's a budget gun compared to a Hawkeye or a Scout but it's light and if it shoots well I'll be happy enough.
-The AR-style mag release button is half covered. Not sure why they didn't expose the entire button. I guess it has to do with the modular AR mag insert.
-It's easy to get a good purchase on the bolt knob which is a good size and the handle is long. Plenty of clearance from a low scope. It can be cycled fast.
-The trigger out of the box feels like 6 lbs and has a bit of gritty creep. I don't like these safety triggers and will find a replacement if possible.
-I need a better scope.
